LICENSE

Summary:

Primary Duties

Achieves proficiency in two or more evidenced-based practices, and applies these in therapy with seriously mentally ill clients.
Interfaces and collaborates with referring clinicians regarding the referral process and rationale for psychological assessment.
Consults with staff regarding psychological assessments completed by outside institutions or individuals.
Administers psychological tests including structured clinical interviews; tests of intelligence, cognitive screens, and specific tests of cognitive and neuropsychological function including memory and executive functions.
Focuses assessments explicitly on referral questions, utilizing instruments appropriate for the client.
Administers, scores, and interprets tests and interviews that are current and whose validity and reliability have been established for use with members of the population to which the client belongs (including language competence).
Identifies interpretive strengths and limitations, considering various test factors, test-taking abilities and characteristics of client such as situational, personal, linguistic, and cultural differences that could affect the assessment's accuracy.
Prepares written assessment reports at the level of the report consumer, individualized to the unique attributes of the client including his/her strengths; makes concrete, pragmatic recommendations that address treatment planning and the referral question.
Provides feedback on referral questions to the referring clinician and client and/or family, tailored to their level of understanding.
Makes recommendations for the purchase of assessment instruments, keeping up to date on instrument revisions.
Maintains the security of assessment manuals, instruments, protocols and test questions.
Documents client services, ensuring compliance with Agency policies and procedures, Department of Mental Health contract and other related agencies' standards and guidelines.

Develops and maintains professional assessment skills through seminars, workshops, or other forms of training/education related to working with adults with a history of mental illness.
Attends and participates in program, Agency staff meetings; and related community agency meetings as required/requested.
Position Requirements
Must be a CA licensed psychologist; 2+ years post licensure preferred.
Must have a strong working knowledge/experience in psychological assessment, including test selection, administration, interpretation and report-writing.
A working knowledge of psychological assessment in mental health including understanding of diagnostic concepts and assessment correlates of particular psychopathologies including psychiatric syndromes, personality disorders, and cognitive dysfunctions as well as those of malingering.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience working with adults with a history of mental illness in a social service/mental health environment.
Willing to travel between agency sites to provide services, and work in a variety of settings, including outpatient, home-based and field-based.
Experience as a clinical supervisor preferred.
Must possess knowledge of research and statistics.

**Purpose Statement/Position Summary:** Children's Hospital Los Angeles is seeking to hire a full-time Pediatric Psychologist who will provide outpatient behavioral health services, including assessment, consultation, and intervention for children, adolescents, and families referred to the interdisciplinary Feeding Development Clinic. Clients (ages birth-21) will present with comorbid medical, developmental and behavioral health concerns. Common referrals include extreme Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, food selectivity/rigidity, weight loss, failure to gain weight, and behavioral difficulties related to mealtimes. The team consists of psychologists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, registered dietitians, a developmental behavioral pediatrician and a case manager. Opportunities exist to build new collaborative relationships with medical clinics at CHLA. The psychologist will be responsible for providing the following: individual, family and group therapy using evidence-based psychological interventions; case management services; school advocacy; home/school visits as clinically indicated; and coordination of care with medical teams at CHLA related to specific clients on the psychologist's caseload. Completes psychological/developmental assessments as needed. Provides assessment as part of the interdisciplinary feeding team and conducts behavioral observations as part of this assessment in order to identify strengths and challenges related to feeding development. Future opportunities also exist for supervision in our APA-accredited internship and fellowship programs. Teaching duties may include didactic presentations; community presentations; and participation in staff/supervisor meetings. The focus of this position is within the field of pediatric psychology in the area of feeding; however
**Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:** Supervised professional experience providing therapy to a pediatric psychology population is required. Previous consultation and liaison experience within a medical setting is strongly preferred. Knowledge of the various psychosocial aspects of commonly referred medical conditions is strongly preferred. Experience supervising trainees is preferred. Training in Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP) is strongly preferred. Experience conducting psychological and developmental assessments is preferred. Prefer bilingual competence (Spanish/English).
**Education/Licensure/Certification:** Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D., in School, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology; prefer education from an APA-accredited program. Licensed Psychologist in the State of California or license eligible where applicants must have received completed their licensure by their anticipated start date. BLS from the American Heart Association required.

INTRODUCTION:
Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center's Conditional Release Program (CONREP) is seeking a Psychologist to fulfill the role of Forensic Clinician in its Satellite, Statewide Transitional Residential Treatment Program (STRP). This residential program provides court and parole mandated treatment and supervision to individuals committed as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, Offender with a Mental Health Disorder, or Incompetent to Stand Trial.
The STRP clinical team is a leader in providing compassionate and effective mental health treatment, and risk management to under-served and over-represented populations in forensic settings. As a member of the team, you will have access to a leadership team comprised of seasoned experts who are invested in each team member's professional growth and access to a robust didactic training program that has been expanded to other CONREP programs throughout California. Gateways Satellite offers mental health professionals a unique professional environment where staff are stimulated, challenged, and supported in the work they do.
Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish to be considered for this role.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Forensic Clinician - Psychologist must have a Psy.D. or Ph.D., from an accredited university and be licensed or license eligible. The responsibilities of the position include providing forensically focused individual and group therapy, home visits, crisis intervention, case management services, and urine screens, to an adult forensic population. Documentation on all services provided must be submitted within 24-hours of service delivery. Clinical staff participates in all meetings and supervision activities. Assists with any other project as indicated by the Program Director or Program Coordinator as needed. Must maintain a clear criminal record for continued employment eligibility.

Working knowledge of mental status examinations and current diagnostic manual.
Knowledge of psychiatric mental health theories and practices.
Individual and group treatment with clients who present a variety of psychopathologies.

Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required depending on assignment. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.
Compensation Differential: Clinical therapists regularly assigned to work in detention facilities or in the Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit at ARMC receive additional compensation. Indicate your interest and availability for such positions on the Supplemental Questionnaire.
Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Waiver of Licensure: Pre-licensed Psychologists must be eligible for waiver of licensure under State laws and regulations and obtain the required Mental Health waiver prior to the commencement of employment. Pre-Licensed Psychologists must become licensed by the State of California within five (5) years of the original waiver or be terminated unless they were previously licensed in another state.
* The California Department of Health Care Services may grant a waiver for those who were previously licensed in another state and considered license ready in CA according to the Board of Psychology criteria, for up to three (3) years. Applicants must have sufficient experience to gain admission to a licensing examination so that registration with the Board of Psychology is not required. Offers of employment are contingent on the applicant's ability to obtain waiver and obtain licensure within three (3) years of the date of the waiver. At the interview, all pre-licensed and license ready applicants will sign a Statement of Awareness of the Requirement to Obtain Licensure for Continued Employment.
Degree: Must have received or be within three (3) months of receiving a doctorate degree in psychology, educational psychology, education with a field specialization in counseling psychology or educational psychology from an approved or accredited educational institution that meets the educational requirements for licensure.
The doctoral program must have included 1500 hours of clinical internship. An employment start date will not be provided until the degree is received and a Professional Licensing Waiver is granted by the Department of Health Care Services. A copy of transcript is required upon appointment.
Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog, and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. The Position:
We are seeking a part-time Bilingual Clinical Psychologist for our Palmdale site. This position is primarily responsible for conducting psychological testing/assessments to children and adolescents in assigned programs. This position is part of a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, case managers and other professionals working collaboratively to ensure comprehensive whole person care.
What You'll Do
Conduct comprehensive psychological testing/assessments as assigned and provide feedback to multidisciplinary team to help guide treatment.
Available to handle client crisis and symptom management.
Meets expected performance billable hours as assigned by Supervisor.
Complete all documentation according to Agency, HIPAA, and funder standards within required timelines.
Participates in supervision, meetings and trainings related to position and services provided including evidence-based practice trainings, boosters, and consultations as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned within recognized scope of practice.
Hours: Part-time (20 hours), at least one evening per week until 8:00pm required
This position is fully onsite.
Starting Salary:
Waivered Psychologist: $37.50
Licensed Psychologist: $38.46 - $40.86
Additional years of experience will be considered as well
Additional differential available for bilingual Spanish-English proficiency (must pass Spanish Proficiency Assessment to qualify)
Qualifications
Bilingual English and Spanish required.
Must have experience conducting psychological testing
Relevant experience in providing direct mental health services to children and adolescents, including work or internship experience.
Proven ability to work effectively with highly traumatized children and families, managing high-risk situations and volatile family dynamics.
Strong knowledge and experience in delivering culturally competent services, with a commitment to inclusivity and sensitivity.
Demonstrates excellent collaboration skills, working professionally with a multidisciplinary treatment team, and ability to work independently while seeking supervision when needed.
Strong organizational skills, dependability, and a proactive approach to work, with effective time management, flexibility, and punctuality in meeting deadlines, appointments, and meetings.
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. Must be eligible to register as a waivered or licensed psychologist with the Board of Psychology.
