Position Summary:
Position responsible for identifying, triaging and co-managing patients with medical and behavioral health problems within the primary care setting by providing the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) model. The PCBH model is designed to provide population-based care services within the setting of primary care. The goals of the PCBH model is for the Behavioral Health Consultant to provide the acronym GATHER: Be a Generalist; Be Accessible; Be a Team Player; Be Highly productive in number of patient visits per day; Be an Educator to patients and team about behavioral health needs; and Be a Routine part of patient healthcare.

Your contribution to the team includes:
* Collaborate with primary care providers and other team members in recognizing and treating mental health conditions, substance use/misuse. subclinical presentations of distress, psychosocial problems, promoting preventive medicine interventions, chronic condition management, and other behavioral needs of our patient population.
* Given primary care can be a fast pace, high needs environment, a BHC needs to be able to provide population-based health approaches to behavioral health care which includes: Establishing behavioral health services within the clinic as routine patient care, assessing and triaging patient care in the teachable moment (when patients are engaging medical team members, called a warm handoff), balance scheduled visits with warm handoff opportunities so that behavioral health services are assessable to all, engage in brief assessments/screeners to assess a patient level of functioning and possible risk level, and be a generalist (work with all patients of our healthcare system no matter the age or clinical need).
* Work with primary care providers to refer cases to mental health specialists as appropriate and bridge care to these patients until patient is successful in connecting with more traditional mental health services.
* Provide brief behavioral health visits modeled after the pace and needs of primary care. The PCBH model goal is to reach more patients and have a larger impact on our patient community. A typical scheduled visit is for behavioral health is about 30 minutes in length while warm handoff visits can vary from 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Schedule follow-ups with patients based upon clinical need while keeping access to behavioral health services in mind.
* Be effective in communication with team members about patient care including providing consultation to primary care providers and other team members about assessments of patient care needs and recommended interventions.
* Teach patients evidence supported interventions to assist in self-care, preventive medicine, quality of life improvement, and improved functionality. Equally important is to be an educator of these techniques to patients' families and primary care team members so they can assist in disseminating and reinforcing strategies as well. There are additional opportunities to participate in presentations to staff on behavioral health topics to assist in further opportunities to educate our teams.
* Conduct, design and co-lead as needed group classes and group visits to promote skill building, education, and improved health for the patient.
* Monitor the site's behavioral health program, identifying problems related to patient services, making recommendations for quality improvement and clinical pathways, and identify linkages to beneficial community resources and external specialty services.
* Attend and participate in behavioral health meetings, site meetings, and Quality Improvement activities as required.
* Respond to patient or co-worker complaints and work toward a positive resolution of any dispute.
* Serve as a member of site committees as requested.
* Participate in evaluation of peers, support staff, and supervisor as required.
* Provide assistance in the efforts to grow Behavioral Health services in the organization as required.
* Assist in the evaluation of the behavioral health program: review utilization data, establish outcomes to measure quality of life improvements, and cost effectiveness of population-based programming.
* Support our Behavioral Health Education Program by being willing to provide mentorship to a trainee (pre-intern, intern, or resident) as well as provide some secondary individual and/or group supervision to trainees as needed. Contract Description/Overview:
Your services support the Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations program. Veterans are scheduled for appointments at contracted facilities for compensation and pension exams and embeds practitioners in facilities as needs warrant. Dedicated facilities are in areas where there is a large Veteran population with the potential for high volume.
The compensation and pension exam helps the VA answer questions about Veterans' current health.
The practitioners will not decide the percent of disability or rating, develop treatment plans, or prescribe medication.
Completed documentation is sent to the VA for final determination on all disability claims.
Prior to the exam, the practitioner reviews a Veteran's medical or mental health history, using electronic bookmarks that highlight the portions applicable to the Veteran's claimed condition.
The practitioner is guided through a web-based examination form in LHI's Provider Portal to capture the Veteran's responses during the exam.
Electronic exam documentation is known as a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) and must be submitted promptly within 48 hours of each appointment.
The number of DBQs completed per exam will vary based on the Veteran's claimed conditions.
Administrative time is provided to complete exam documentation and ensure timely submission.
The documentation is reviewed by a team of medical professionals to ensure contract compliance and guarantee the verbiage aligns with customer requirements.
Requests for changes or corrections to exam documentation must be submitted within 48 hours of the appointment.
Review pertinent medical history documentation and provide one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams for Veterans.
The Practitioner will capture responses during the exam through a web-based examination form; all documentation will be completed electronically.
Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.
Behavior Health exams are scheduled in 90+ minutes for a comprehensive exam for assessing PTSD, depression, anxiety and eating disorders.
•• Exam submission must be completed online, but no typing is necessary while the Veteran is present; time is provided throughout the day for dictation to ensure the flow of the patient interview is not disrupted.
Education/Qualifications
Qualified candidates must be a PhD or PsyD, with a major in Psychology, who graduated from a doctorate or post-doctorate APA accredited program or a BC/BE MD. The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Psychologist 3 at the Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC) in Monroe, just northeast of the Seattle-metro area in Washington. This is a day shift position that will require work to be completed onsite at the facility.
The Psychologist 3 provides mental health services for mentally ill patients presenting a risk for suicide and/or significant self-injury, violence, or dangerousness towards others. The Psychologist 3 will be providing and supervising mental health assessments, evaluations, and treatment for mentally ill patients for crisis stabilization, acute care, or Mental Health Care in line with the patient's treatment plan of care. The Psychologist 3 directs, coordinates, and provides expert-level administrative supervision for staff in the delivery of Mental Health Services. These duties include: developing, implementing, and monitoring performance standards, policies, and procedures to ensure cross-unit standardization and quality control for Psychological services provided. Treatment includes administrative and Unit Therapeutic Programs, which may occur in a residential therapeutic living unit.

* Track and keep a record of when patients on his/her caseload have an upcoming treatment plan due. IBMPs will be completed as needed.
* Completion of Behavioral Health Discharge Summaries and Involuntary Antipsychotic Reports as needed.
* Provide diagnostic assessment and clarification for Residential Treatment Units (RTUs) at SOU/MCC.
* Conducts individual assessments and evaluations (instrument-based). This will then lead to the completion of Psychological Assessment Reports that will aid developing Mental Health Appraisals and Updates (MHAs/MHUs), Mental Health Treatment Plans, and Mental Health Encounter Reports (MHERs) that incorporate the "golden thread."
* Provide Administrative Supervision.
* Provides administrative supervision to assigned staff.
* Document issues and materials discussed during supervision meetings.
* Provide a copy of Position Description to every employee that he/she supervises.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Behavioral Health Consultant):
Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

The salary rate for part-time faculty is in accordance with the negotiated agreement and may be subject to change based on legislative mandates. In order to be eligible for benefits, state regulations must be met.
Rate of Pay: Faculty compensation units (FCU) are computed by total hours (lecture, lab, clinical) identified on the approved course outline for a given course divided by eleven (11). Associate faculty pay is computed by multiplying the faculty compensation unit rate by the number of faculty compensation units. The current FCU rate for 2024-25 at Step A is $1,052.00 (includes I-732 COLA of 5.87% for 2024-25).Example of Associate Faculty pay (this is for illustrative purposes only):

MAJOR DUTIES
1. Serves as a Clinical Psychologist Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) for the Clinic and Behavioral Health System of Care (BHSOC) Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) program. Makes mental health diagnoses in accordance with the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) when differential diagnosis is required. Provides individual and group treatment, using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychoeducational classes. Performs PCBH biopsychosocial evaluations using expert knowledge of clinical and clinical health psychology. Conducts outpatient group classes, stress management, relaxation training, assertive/social skills training, smoking cessation training, substance abuse identification and brief related interventions appropriate for primary care, as well as evidenced-based interventions for mastery of behavioral health conditions (e.g. anxiety, depression, post traumatic symptoms etc.) and behavioral medicine conditions (e.g. insomnia, acute and chronic pain, diabetes, weight management etc.) as required. Participates in quality assurance activities. Provides psychological and clinical consultation to physicians, other professionals and paraprofessionals through established consultation channels. Provides feedback to Primary Care Managers (PCMs) regarding consultation findings and recommendations as directed by the current DHA PCBH Administrative Instruction.
Consults with primary care providers to select, approve, and document treatment priorities in SMART goal format. Serves as the authority on primary care psychology for the clinic. Educates clinic staff on the principles of primary care behavioral health via trainings and briefings. Conducts meetings and conferences to review the level of care for appropriateness of treatment in primary care and evaluate and approve referral sources. Establishes cooperative agreements among various providers and clinics throughout the Military Treatment Facility (MTF). Monitors, evaluates, and approves use of community resources. Provides reports and approves consults. Uses objective behavioral outcome measures to evaluate progress in treatment.
2. Provides evidenced-based individual treatment and psychoeducational classes for patients enrolled in primary care clinics. Provides expertise in human behavior as a primary care team member and provides consultation to primary care and specialty clinic providers regarding psychological treatment options to optimize health outcomes. Assists primary care providers with the treatment of patients with known high-risk factors such as suicide, history of trauma, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Conducts PCBH model treatment, monitors, approves, and documents all treatment goals. Reviews and approves the appropriate modality of treatment for each patient. Develops treatment processes and procedures for orientation of patients. Evaluates information/education processes. Institutes changes to increase effectiveness of treatment efforts. Evaluates appropriateness of treatment goals. Determines appropriate dispositions for severe cases. Provides structure and procedures for organization of case staffing information. Establishes policies for case consultation.
3. Executes performance initiatives (PI) through revision of clinical standards and procedures; and performs a variety of quality management/quality assurance (QM/QA) duties to meet the Joint Commission (TJC) requirements. Evaluates clinical records and monitors all objective instrument administration and scoring for quality assurance. Evaluates environment of care. Monitors all risk management issues and takes appropriate action. Establishes and executes performance initiatives. Works with primary care team to develop processes to increase same day "warm handoffs" of patients from the primary care provider to the BHC. Works to increase overall penetration into the enrolled clinic population by targeting common conditions with behavioral components that are amenable to BHC intervention. Performs daily activities to increase BHC clinical productivity (e.g. scrubbing PCM appointment lists, circulating in the clinic and consulting with staff, being vocal in morning huddles etc.). Establishes and monitors objective behavioral outcome measures. Evaluates and revises standard operating procedures. Conducts program evaluation. Consults with ancillary care providers. Substantiates the results of crisis intervention. Reviews data provided in reports of special actions. Reviews statistical data to modify program goals. Evaluates and approves educational materials for use by clinic staff and patients.
4. Provides consultation regarding interpretation and approval of outcome measures and screening instruments. Develops, implements, and evaluates professional development activities, coordinates inter and intra-departmental in-service training on PCBH related topics. Evaluates scope of practice and makes adjustments for increased adherence and efficacy as needed. Evaluates training opportunities, development activities, and orientation activities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interview patients and study medical and social case histories.
Diagnose and evaluate mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administer programs of treatment.
Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed by government supervisor.
Attend and/or comply with all trainings and meetings as assigned by Command/Government supervisor.
Actively participate in the command's Performance Improvement Program.
Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.
Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events. Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions.
Comply with the standards of The Joint Commission, applicable provisions of law, and the rules and regulations of any and all governmental authorities pertaining to licensure and regulation of health care personnel and medical treatment facilities, the regulations and standards of medical practice and the MTF's medical staff bylaws.
Provide training and/or direction as applicable to supporting government employees (e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.).
Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, and Clinical Information System (CIS), participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander.
Comply with the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) privacy and security policies of the treatment facility.
Providers shall obtain/maintain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) in accordance with DOD and MTF policy/instruction, as applicable. **************************
Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required. All records and reports must be legible. Abbreviations must be only those listed in local instructions.
Adhere to and comply with the Department of the Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and local instructions and notices in effect during the term of the contract.
Practice aseptic techniques as necessary; comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection.
Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures.
Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner.
Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights, as identified within the MTF.
Exercise appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care, and clinic activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Be able to comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, Department of Defense, Department of Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and MTF instructions and policies.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Excellent time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently and maintain good communication skills with patients and other health care personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychology Association (APA) accredited program or school.
Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the APA.
Possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted license or certification to practice as a psychologist in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
HCW shall be in good standing, and under no restrictions, with the state licensure board in any state in which a license is held or has been held within the last 10 years.
HCW shall be in good standing and under no sanction or suspension by the Federal Government.
Possess and maintain current certification in either the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course.
Ability to pass all background/suitability checks.

The University of Washington's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology, is seeking a clinical psychologists for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank, on the Clinical Practice Track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW's Faculty Code Section 24-34. Full-/part-time status is negotiable. Please be advised that part-time positions are not eligible for visa sponsorship or permanent residence sponsorship by the University of Washington.
The position is available beginning in Winter 2025; an earlier or later start date is negotiable, subject to credentilaing timelines.
In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

Clinical duties will include delivery of rehabilitation psychology services (e.g., psychotherapy, consultation) both on inpatient and outpatient at Harborview Medical Center, with possibility of working at University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC)-Montlake Campus as needed or vice versa.
Outpatient services include brief interventions and psychoeducation, and inpatient services include consultation-liaison services on acute care/burn service. The selected candidate will be expected to provide care for the many populations served by The Division of Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology, including patients with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, burn injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and cancer.
Opportunities are available for supervision of psychology predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees within our APA-accredited internship and fellowship programs, as well as lectures at the graduate/medical school level. Opportunities also are available for mentorship, career growth, and leadership. The individuals hired for this position will work with marginalized and culturally diverse communities and with trainees holding a range of worldviews.

COMPENSATION
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice $8,800 - $10,918 per month ($105,600 - $ 134,946 annually), Associate Professor of Clinical Practice $10,833 - $13,434 per month ($129,996 - $164,432 annually), Professor of Clinical Practice $ $12,500 - $17,204 per month ($150,000 - $210,577 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
