Summary of position:
This full-time position reports to the Director of the Manhattan Forensic Psychiatric Evaluation Court Clinic (Manhattan FPECC) in the Division of Correctional Health Services. The Manhattan FPECC, located in the Manhattan Criminal Court Building at 100 Centre Street, is responsible for conducting court-ordered fitness to proceed evaluations under CPL Article 730 and presentencing evaluations under CPL Article 390 for criminal defendants with cases in New York County; preparing written reports in a timely manner for submission to the Courts; and providing courtroom testimony as necessary.
Detailed Tasks:
Conduct court-ordered evaluations of criminal defendants and submit timely written reports to the Courts
Conduct psychological testing (intelligence, neuropsychological, personality, malingering, etc.) as needed
Provide teaching and supervision for clinicians in training
Participate in regular supervision with the Director of the Queens FPECC
Actively participate in staff meetings, clinic quality improvement projects, and continuing education
Remain aware of and in compliance with organizational policies and procedures
From time to time, as needed, conduct CPL 730 and CPL 390 evaluations in the other FPECC clinics (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan)
Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Queens Forensic Psychiatric Evaluation Court Clinic or the city-wide Director of the Forensic Psychiatric Evaluation Court Clinics

What You'll Do

Overview
Maimonides Medical Center Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking a senior staff psychologist for our child and adolescent outpatient psychiatry service. You will join a team of dedicated professionals partnering with a diverse population of patients to improve mental health and well-being. In addition to clinical care, Maimonides has a supportive academic culture in which our psychologists take pride in teaching and supervising psychiatry residents, psychology interns, and psychology externs. Our well-established, APA-accredited psychology internship program recruits six interns yearly. Additionally, our child and adolescent psychology externship program recruits four externs each year. Staff psychologists are also encouraged to participate in didactics training and research in their areas of expertise and interest.
The department of psychiatry also houses specialty clinics in perinatal and LGBTQ+ mental health care.
