Role Overview:
Responsible providing individual, family, and group therapy services in acute care settings for youth and adolescent clients experiencing a range of emotional and behavioral challenges. The Clinical Psychologist will complete psychological screening and assessments across programs. Services will include providing evaluation, consultation, and monitoring of individuals receiving involuntary care. Position will work in a multidisciplinary team of providers and is critical to supporting the mental health and developmental needs of young people in our community.
Essential Duties:
Conduct age-appropriate clinical interviews, screenings, psychological assessments, and testing in acute care programs.
Diagnose emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders specific to youth populations.
Develop and implement individualized, developmentally appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and care teams.
Deliver evidence-based therapy (individual, group, and family) focused on supporting youth mental health.
Consult with school personnel, pediatricians, case managers, and other providers to coordinate care.
Required:
Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents in clinical settings (school-based, outpatient, or community behavioral health strongly preferred).
Current and valid DORA license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of CO.
Highly Desired:
Proven experience in child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and family systems approaches.
Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred

This position is subject to a mandatory background check through the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) TRAILS database, which reviews for any substantiated cases of child abuse or neglect.

Contract Description/Overview:
Your services support the Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations program. Veterans are scheduled for appointments at contracted facilities for compensation and pension exams and embeds practitioners in facilities as needs warrant. Dedicated facilities are in areas where there is a large Veteran population with the potential for high volume.
The compensation and pension exam helps the VA answer questions about Veterans' current health.
The practitioners will not decide the percent of disability or rating, develop treatment plans, or prescribe medication.
Completed documentation is sent to the VA for final determination on all disability claims.
Prior to the exam, the practitioner reviews a Veteran's medical or mental health history, using electronic bookmarks that highlight the portions applicable to the Veteran's claimed condition.
The practitioner is guided through a web-based examination form in LHI's Provider Portal to capture the Veteran's responses during the exam.
Electronic exam documentation is known as a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) and must be submitted promptly within 48 hours of each appointment.
The number of DBQs completed per exam will vary based on the Veteran's claimed conditions.
Administrative time is provided to complete exam documentation and ensure timely submission.

This position would provide CL services with a broad range of inpatient medical, surgical and ICU units. The psychologist in this role will also be a team member of the Department of Psychiatry's Adult Division Integrated Behavioral Health Service as well as the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service at UCH.
The health or rehabilitation psychologist recruited for this full-time position will become part of the Department of Psychiatry's growing and dynamic Adult Division. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct brief psychological screening, assessment, and individual therapy with adult medical/surgical inpatients. Provide consultation and treatment on intensive care units (ICU's).Provide evidenced-based treatment to patients and families coping with acute, chronic, and life-threatening illness.
* Provide behavioral pain management interventions to patients on medical and surgical inpatient units. Consult and collaborate with interprofessional team members to develop intervention strategies related to physical and psychosocial challenges. Assist with patient, unit, and staff relational dynamics, and provide recommendations to help in cases with challenging patient interactions.
* Provide trauma-informed care to adults on medical/surgical units, and work with interprofessional teams to deliver trauma-informed interventions. Perform cognitive and psychological screening and testing when indicated.

Preferred Qualifications:
● Post-doctoral fellowship focused on health psychology, rehabilitation psychology, consultation-liaison services and/or integrated behavioral health care in specialty settings such as Transplant, CL, medical trauma, or other complex in-patient units.
● Training and experience in Consultation Liaison services including inpatient behavioral medicine and/ integrated specialty care.
● Training and experience providing consultation, trauma informed care, assessment and brief individual and family interventions in inpatient medical/surgical, ICU and Transplant settings.
● Training and/or experience developing and implementing behavior care plans in inpatient medical/surgical settings. Experience with QI initiatives and metrics in inpatient medical and surgical units.
● Understanding of the biomedical, psychological, and social factors impacting patients at risk for and seen on inpatient units as well as Transplant programs. Experience with integrated teams in specialty medical settings that promotes an inclusive environment.
● Experience related to the impact of trauma, substance abuse and social determinants related to health, complex physical conditions, and recovery.
● Ability to perform cognitive screening and psychological testing specialty medical settings: A clinical neuropsychology fellowship not required.
