The Testing Psychologist will perform comprehensive psychological assessments to support diagnostic clarity, treatment planning, and intervention strategies for children, adolescents, and adults. This role focuses on addressing behavioral health complexities, providing actionable insights through psychoeducational and psychological evaluations, and collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams to optimize outcomes.

Work with patients of all ages is preferred, as well as their families, by providing psychological evaluations
Administer, interpret, and integrate a wide variety of psychological test batteries, focusing on cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and academic functioning
Provide clear, evidence-based diagnostic impressions and actionable recommendations tailored to the individual's needs
Collaborate and review work with psychometrists and psychometrist assistants, overseeing test administration, scoring, and ensuring quality control
Deliver compassionate feedback through live in-person testing sessions and create feedback videos to communicate findings and recommendations
Maintain a detail-oriented, process-focused approach to ensure the accuracy of testing data and comprehensive reporting
Utilize telehealth platforms effectively for remote assessments, including adapting testing strategies for virtual delivery
Conduct intake interviews, testing sessions, and live feedback sessions in person, as indicated
Requirements:
Doctorate degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) from an American Psychological Association accredited program
Licensed Clinical Psychologist in at least one state
PSYPACT authorized or PSYPACT eligible preferred
3+ years of experience in psychological assessments with children, adolescents, or adults
Familiarity with evaluating complex behavioral health needs (e.g., ASD ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma)

Contract with our leading clinician-owned and led health company today! The Warrior Vets Medical Services team provides exemplary general medical services. We provide in-person care to current and former US Military veterans. Our team is seeking a licensed psychologist to conduct assessments for our veteran population on a traveling basis.
We pay $1250 per day worked. We remit payment within 45 days of encounter documentation in our user-friendly records system.
100% Travel
Our psychologist will travel to each patient to complete psychological exams. We are currently seeking new team members who will serve our incarcerated veteran patients. Applicants can be based anywhere in the United States.
Typical Appointments
In-person appointments consist of general psychological evaluations. Evaluations are performed once per veteran and typically take 60 to 90 minutes. There are no ongoing treatment needs for these veterans; it is a one-time encounter.

Make your own schedule! Our current need is two days per week. We efficiently schedule a series of evaluation appointments that last no more than a total of eight hours each day.

The responsibilities for this position include 80% for teaching (45-50%), research (20-25%), academic service (5%), and 20% clinical service in the UH Family Care Center. Applicants seeking appointment at clinical full professor must be highly experienced in one or more of the educational areas described below in the form of development, implementation and scholarship.
The appointment will be in the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSS) at UHCOM. BSS includes faculty in psychology, psychiatry, social work, anthropology, medical ethics, public health and epidemiology. UHCOM is a new medical school that opened in August 2020. Its mission is to educate physicians who will provide compassionate, high value care to patients, families and communities. We seek to directly impact the health of our community. UHCOM leadership and faculty see biopsychosocial training and professional development of relationally oriented physicians as fundamental to our mission. BSS provides a curriculum covering the full range of behavioral and social sciences knowledge, skills and attitudes; mental disorders; health behaviors; communication; teamwork; and wellness. We see the doctor-patient relationship as therapeutic and prepare our graduates to have meaningful, effective and satisfying interactions with patients. The curriculum is highly innovative with an emphasis on small group and active learning teaching methods.
UHCOM is a community-based medical school. The faculty psychologist will provide direct patient care at our Family Care Center or a similar site. We intend to lead in development and delivery of integrated behavioral health. The faculty psychologist should be capable of providing a generalist, evidence-based approach to evaluation and therapy, and highly interested in clinical teaching of trainees of all types (medical students, psychology students, social work, etc.).
Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly productivity and lead/participate in grant fund projects. In addition to behavioral and social sciences, UHCOM focuses on social determinants of health, health systems and population medicine. Together these bring a rich opportunity for curriculum development and health services research. The University of Houston is a Carnegie Tier One Research University with more than 37,000 undergraduates. Graduate clinical behavioral health training and innovative research are offered by departments of clinical psychology, educational psychology, and social work. Research collaborations with all departments at UH is supported and encouraged.
This position reports directly to the James H. Bray, PhD, Chair of the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences.
Currently, this is a non-tenure position. In the near future, UHCOM expects to begin implementation of a tenure system.

Position Summary
The Psychotherapist provides direct clinical services to adolescents with co-occurring psychiatric and medical needs through individual, group, and family psychotherapy. This role works closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to assess mental health needs, develop individualized treatment plans, support behavioral stabilization, and promote successful transition to the next level of care.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care & Treatment Planning
Develop, monitor, and document individualized mental health treatment goals as part of each patient's interdisciplinary treatment plan.
Provide evidence-based individual, group, milieu, and family psychotherapy aligned with program standards and the patient's treatment needs.
Conduct ongoing assessments to identify behavioral or psychiatric concerns interfering with rehabilitation or medical progress.
Schedule and coordinate 1-2 weekly individual sessions and 1 family session per treatment plan expectations.
Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and collaborate closely with medical, psychiatric, and therapy staff.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Coordinate interventions with the full care team to ensure consistent, effective treatment across a specialized psychiatric-medical inpatient setting.
Provide timely communication and clinical updates to the Program Director and Program Medical Director regarding treatment progress, concerns, and recommendations.
Assist in establishing caseload and weekly group coverage with guidance from the Program Director.
Contribute to discharge planning by providing recommendations and supporting transitions to outpatient, residential, or community-based care.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation for all therapeutic sessions and patient encounters.
Ensure alignment with facility policies, regulatory standards, and program expectations.
Present professionally when representing the hospital to families, referral sources, and community partners.
Staff Support & Education
Provide both formal and informal guidance to staff regarding de-escalation techniques, psychoeducation, and effective clinical strategies.
Support staff in managing behavioral concerns in a medically complex setting.
Program Development & Continuous Improvement
Stay current with emerging research and therapeutic best practices related to adolescent psychiatric and behavioral health care.
Participate in program development meetings to assess treatment fidelity and make recommendations for program refinement.
Contribute to efforts that enhance the effectiveness, safety, and therapeutic quality of services delivered.

QualificationsEducation
Master's degree required in a behavioral health field (e.g., Counseling, Social Work, Psychology).
Experience
Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring behavioral and therapeutic treatment programs.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in an inpatient hospital or rehabilitation setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Must hold one of the following: LPC, LMSW, or LCSW.
BLS certification required (must remain current).
Must maintain all licensure and credentials in good standing throughout employment.
