1979

Printing History was founded in 1979; since then it has been edited by Susan Otis Thompson, Anna Lou Ashby, Renee I. Weber, and David Pankow.

1988

In 1988 the largest employers in the newspaper printing and publishing industry were the Oklahoma Publishing Company (Oklahoma City) and the Newspaper Printing Corporation (Tulsa), employing between 501 and 1,000.

2005

In March 2005 the Oklahoma Publishing Company (Oklahoma City) and the World Publishing Company (Tulsa) ranked among Oklahoma's major employers, with 1,200 and 700 workers, respectively.

2007

Printing History New Series began in 2007 under the editorship of William S. Peterson, Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Maryland, former editor of Papers of the Bibliographical Society of America, and the author of books about the Kelmscott Press and Daniel Berkeley Updike.

2014

On December 17, 2014, Congress redesignated the agency the United States Government Publishing Office.

2022
