Employees can't afford to shop at Publix. Employees are made out to be the "villan" when customers behave badly - the motto is "treat customers like royalty" no matter the situation.
At the moment none - they cut long term employees hourly schedule so the employees don't get their perks such as PTO, Profit sharing, etc.
Not much - they treat hourly employees live peasants/serfs.
Hire managers with college degrees and management skills.
My initial interview lasted about 10 minutes - I ended up calling corporate about the interview procedure - they called store manager who stated he was too busy that day to conduct a thorough interview. I got a 2nd interview with the CS manager and was hired. For the first 3 years my experience went downhill due to the store manager's micromanagement but I stuck it out to my 5th year - can't wait to get out of there. BTW I was 69 years old when hired - they don't respect older employees.
There is no diversity.
Leaving at the end of my shift.
Publix nickels and dimes hourly employees.
Some good benefits
Don’t hire felons. Bad managers.
Just the increase
Great benefits and room to move up unfortunately management were tending to favorites and didn't appreciate fresh and new innovative ideas.
You were often told what to do without a thorough explanation of the processes! Very little follow through.
Profit sharing!!
They kept in communication with the employees.
Having a better sense of team morale together.....management often excluded themselves from the team always talking and "figuring" something out .....I would work with my employees create a sense of team spirit and commrodery from the top down!
First I tell myself to just be myself ....I will also study the company I'm interviewing with like the company's mission statement and the overall company's financial status as well....and what their plans are for further development.
It wasn't too bad....I made 22.80/hr as a Team Supervisor.
Pretty good.
Developing new associates and watch them climb the ladder knowing you helped instill work ethic and proper training in them this is key to a company's success.
Friendly and family like work environment, good benefits, investing in stocks, good management, good first job.
To many minors and pay could be better
Health Insurance, Vision Insurance, Dental Insurance, 401k, Stocks
Overall good at their job and meets the employee's needs
By giving the employees more career opportunities and a living wage
Wrote down questions my interviewer might ask me and had someone else askt me the questions and gave my responses back to the best of my ability.
Honestly depends on what department you work for in Publix pay can vary
I would say It's good
Getting to see my fellow coworkers/my friends who work at my store as well and getting to learn something new every day.
The pay is way better than what this days. I’m a meat manager. Almost 100 k a year with bonuses.
Serious work environment
Bonuses. Free stock 6 weeks vacation.
Awesome
Tough to find good help
Good upbringing
Benefits an career path.
getting paid very little for hourly pay for grocery stock clerks, deli department, produce compared to other companies. especially team leader for what they do they get paid very little especially how expensive things are these days.
Free publix stock an the PTO benefits
they are hard workers just there expectations are alittle to high on the workers especially being short staff an hard to find good workers but understand we all try to do our very best
Getting paid more for hourly paid would make a big difference an more people would wanna work for publix
be straight forward nice an respectful
the benefits make up just enough compared to the hourly pay
i am satisfied with it
the workers an the environment for the most part well as the our regular respectful customers
The pros of working at Publix is that it is great for teenagers who are looking for a job for the first time.
In my experience, the cons of working at Publix are the long hours and having a difficult time trying to find friends while working.
I would improve Publix by showing the future employer the whole layout of the store and where everything is and what is in each aisle. Make sure they feel like they can navigate the store well.
My mom had set up the interview for me, but I was honest with my answers and gave them good deep answers. Not just a yes or no to their questions.
What brings me job was having a small conversation with the customers.
Stock, vacation.
They will force you to take a write up when you are innocent, on the first of November, work you hard ,and in the middle of January they will open it back up change their mind and terminate you.
Stock
The managers show a lot of favoritism, so the only way to move up is to get into the click. And you will never see a ceo .
Take care of the employees by treating them as human beings, not a piece of equipment.
I didn't. Hired on when I turned sixteen
Poor,I have always worked for bread crumbs
I have no comment on this.
Knowing that I did the best job possible.
You have knowledgeable people and if you get along with people, you'll make friends for life.
Favoritism. Unfair criticism Lack of ownership from management.
Stocks
It's hard to get fired.
The company should be more open to change, technology and new ideas.
The compensation is low compared to other companies but on the other hand it is hard to find a high paying job in Florida.
Benefits
Managers lie. About everything all the time. Abusive managers and toxic work environments. The Real Publix.
Health insurance.
There are so many ways to grow in different departments, they give you stock after approximately a year (I think it’s like 1250 hours or something I could be wrong) and after 3 years it’s yours to keep. They give 12 weeks maternity and paternity leave with some of it being paid.
Some management members can worry more about their bonus than making sure their department had the tools it needs to operate properly.
I get discounts at stores (online and brick and mortar) and local restaurants.
I honestly don’t have an answer for this because I don’t know a whole lot about them.
Listening to their associates needs
I prepared by dressing business casual and my bubbly personality
Ownership
Work all the time
Ownership/ Benefits and insurance food is great
I love the enthusiasm of the team very informative
I would keep it like it is
I got plenty of sleep I dressed up had my resume and ready to go
My compensation has been tremendous
The diversity of Publix is awesome many cultures
I like the friendly environment open door policy
Opportunity to grow and advance
Workload and expectations made from out of touch corporate associates
Bonuses that make up for not so competitive wages for management positions
People, Publix stock, cafeteria
A couple of managers that are micromanagers
Retirement
The managers and employees support each other
Working nights
The health and stocks
I appreciate the perspective of management because they all started off entry level.
I do not like how inclusivity is valued over effectiveness.
I enjoy the flexibility of part time scheduling to create a productive work life balance.
My coworkers
The good workers had to make up for the work that fell short due to other employees or sometimes even management. There was little reward or incentive for working hard, so most people just slacked without any reprecussion from management. Most of these employees were even awarded full time or hire for simply brown-nosing the upper management. They also changed their raise policy to only annually so it would take more time to raise your wage, they refused to raise wages while other companies followed suit, they fired everyone on medical leave due to the pandemic and had no serious mask requirements so in the heat of the pandemic, customers came in coughing and spluttering with no protection for us. Many workers ended up getting Covid due to their relaxed management during this time.
The nicest perk is the stock.
The benefits, pay and learning experience. People should only consider management if the are truly going to perpetuate the Publix culture.
Favoritism
Free stock
The pay, benefits, and flexibility.
I didn't like how management would treat the employees.
Great customer engagement
How close management gets to showing blatant prejudice towards "minority" customers and employees
Being essential
Flexibility , and the ability to move up fast
It’s a team but they overwhelm the best workers
Stocks
Good hours.
Pay / management.
None.
Excellent work environment, most management genuinely cares about their associates, and rapport with clientele.
Little to no work/life balance as schedule is inconsistent from day to day and career growth opportunities are very limited.
Eligibility for Publix stock
Its easy pacing, majority of people get along, Understanding is easy, People are there to help you, Some customers are nice, Some managers are nicer than other and understanding

The company is owned by the associates
Unsupportive management.
Stock given for hours worked.
The People, the work, base training,
Poor management training, the hourly wages
Health Benefits

Paid bonus
Publix managers were great and flexible when it came to scheduling
Long days
Free subs when a customer compliments you
All the different customers, and associates I got to meet. Over 30,000 per week walked in my store.
The top boss treated his associates as dispensable. I was not proud to work for a company that treated their people in such manner.
Stock was excellent and only could be bought by us who worked there.
Nothing. The people are nice but when they get to management they change.
They are very much a corporation now. They don't care about their employees like they use to.
There really aren't any perks. The insurance is expensive but it's good.
Publix is a great market with very friendly staff and they have a great deli filled with wonderful foods that taste great everyone has respect for each other and I appreciate that about working for Publix.
I don't like the managers in Publix because they treat others better than some other coworkers and other staff also. They are very rude and act like they are the best.
I love the food and the discounts
