The hour long break during your shift and the employee stock program.
No work-life balance: Example - your shift may be 11am to 9pm; in rare cases I've been assigned 9am to 9pm. No support from management: expressed interest in moving up through the ranks, but has provided zero support. Safety First Program: Very randomly enforced and constant safety issues. One employee got injured while the manager was servicing a customer. The manager continued servicing the customer until they were done with them before turning their attention to the injured employee.
The hour long break.
Who is the CEO? I have been with the company for almost two years now, and I have not seen or heard as to who this person is. There is more emphasis on "Mr. George" on how he started the company.
The culture is that the customer is always first, and I have found that the employees are last. Lack of personal protective equipment at times, dish sink won't hold water and drains out - no request to repair it has been placed. Temperature probes for the rotisserie chicken was broken for about three weeks before it was submitted to be repaired. Chill blaster probes not working now; there seems to be no intention of getting that repaired. Meat slicer will continue to run at random times when in the off position.
There is not much to their interview process. Be yourself and confident.
When it is time to clock out to go home.
For my area, it is competitive against local retail stores. My store starts below average when compared to other Publix markets.
Not impressed.
None
Employees can't afford to shop at Publix. Employees are made out to be the "villan" when customers behave badly - the motto is "treat customers like royalty" no matter the situation.
At the moment none - they cut long term employees hourly schedule so the employees don't get their perks such as PTO, Profit sharing, etc.
Not much - they treat hourly employees live peasants/serfs.
Hire managers with college degrees and management skills.
My initial interview lasted about 10 minutes - I ended up calling corporate about the interview procedure - they called store manager who stated he was too busy that day to conduct a thorough interview. I got a 2nd interview with the CS manager and was hired. For the first 3 years my experience went downhill due to the store manager's micromanagement but I stuck it out to my 5th year - can't wait to get out of there. BTW I was 69 years old when hired - they don't respect older employees.
There is no diversity.
Leaving at the end of my shift.
Publix nickels and dimes hourly employees.
Great benefits and room to move up unfortunately management were tending to favorites and didn't appreciate fresh and new innovative ideas.
You were often told what to do without a thorough explanation of the processes! Very little follow through.
Profit sharing!!
They kept in communication with the employees.
Having a better sense of team morale together.....management often excluded themselves from the team always talking and "figuring" something out .....I would work with my employees create a sense of team spirit and commrodery from the top down!
First I tell myself to just be myself ....I will also study the company I'm interviewing with like the company's mission statement and the overall company's financial status as well....and what their plans are for further development.
It wasn't too bad....I made 22.80/hr as a Team Supervisor.
Pretty good.
Developing new associates and watch them climb the ladder knowing you helped instill work ethic and proper training in them this is key to a company's success.
Employee Stock Program, employee perks, hour long breaks, educational programs
Favoritism for sycophantic behavior, long hours of not getting paid overtime, the predatory treatment of management towards desperate employees needing a job, low level diverse hires for the sole purpose of creating the illusion of inclusion, and extremely pathetic health insurance.
Employee Stock Program.
The CEO needs to call for investigations of Publix stores for illegal practices.
I would improve Publix by eliminating the traditional racist way of promoting managers, and exploiting minorities. Monthly customer service training for management and employees, random drug testing,
Providing a resume which I really didn't need, researching the company's history and its needs from me as an employee.
Below average. It took 4 years to generate 9.75 an hour opposed to the original 8.50.
Very deceptive and not for the right intentions.
Helping customers
Benefits an career path.
getting paid very little for hourly pay for grocery stock clerks, deli department, produce compared to other companies. especially team leader for what they do they get paid very little especially how expensive things are these days.
Free publix stock an the PTO benefits
they are hard workers just there expectations are alittle to high on the workers especially being short staff an hard to find good workers but understand we all try to do our very best
Getting paid more for hourly paid would make a big difference an more people would wanna work for publix
be straight forward nice an respectful
the benefits make up just enough compared to the hourly pay
i am satisfied with it
the workers an the environment for the most part well as the our regular respectful customers
you will always have a chance to grow with Publix. You get an evolution and if you did a great job, you would get a raise. There are also events with every location.
working at Publix is very competitive especially if your goal is to grow with Publix. you need to have connections with people in order to advance in this company.
unfortunately, I don't get any benefits that I myself find useful. I am currently part-time so i don't get the full-time benefits that are always talked about.
what I like best about the CEO is how they are always willing to help their employees.
I'm not sure honestly how I would change the companies culture.
I'm going to be honest I was not prepared for the interview as in was my first ever job. I wasn't so sure what to expect.
Stability. Opportunity for advancement*
*advancement based on inclusivity Misleading retirement (not the same as when associates were retiring wealthy)

Friendly and family like work environment, good benefits, investing in stocks, good management, good first job.
To many minors and pay could be better
Health Insurance, Vision Insurance, Dental Insurance, 401k, Stocks
Overall good at their job and meets the employee's needs
By giving the employees more career opportunities and a living wage
Wrote down questions my interviewer might ask me and had someone else askt me the questions and gave my responses back to the best of my ability.
Honestly depends on what department you work for in Publix pay can vary
I would say It's good
Getting to see my fellow coworkers/my friends who work at my store as well and getting to learn something new every day.
The pay is way better than what this days. I’m a meat manager. Almost 100 k a year with bonuses.
Serious work environment
Bonuses. Free stock 6 weeks vacation.
Awesome
Tough to find good help
Good upbringing
Benefits an career path.

not enough pay to buy groceries or gas for regular vassociaters. No cost of living raises

The pros of working at Publix is that it is great for teenagers who are looking for a job for the first time.
In my experience, the cons of working at Publix are the long hours and having a difficult time trying to find friends while working.
I would improve Publix by showing the future employer the whole layout of the store and where everything is and what is in each aisle. Make sure they feel like they can navigate the store well.
My mom had set up the interview for me, but I was honest with my answers and gave them good deep answers. Not just a yes or no to their questions.
What brings me job was having a small conversation with the customers.
The pros I have come to realize while working for Publix are the employee stock opportunities, the schedule flexibility while I attend school, and the benefits that are given.
The cons of working for Publix might have to be the evaluations and pay increases. Pay increases no longer happen every 6 months and now are 1 year apart, the increase is also a percentage and never enough from what is scored on the evaluations.
The employee stocks and shares as well as the PROFIT plan would have to be my favorite benefit provided to those who have worked there for a long time and are given a retirement plan with a fallback.
Stock,vacation
Had wonderful career here and I suffered a stroke they took my job from me, and left with a choice quit, or be terminated. Real nice.
Stock, vacation.
Never seen them,after forty years.
Treat every employee with the respect they deserve, and stop pulling double jeopardy when trying to discipline associates.
I didn't have a interview, my grandmother got me the job.
Poor, have worked for peanuts for almost forty years.
I have no comments on this.
Knowing everyday I did my best.
Stock, vacation.
They will force you to take a write up when you are innocent, on the first of November, work you hard ,and in the middle of January they will open it back up change their mind and terminate you.
Stock
The managers show a lot of favoritism, so the only way to move up is to get into the click. And you will never see a ceo .
Take care of the employees by treating them as human beings, not a piece of equipment.
I didn't. Hired on when I turned sixteen
Poor,I have always worked for bread crumbs
I have no comment on this.
Knowing that I did the best job possible.
I thought you had job security if you did your best.
There is no job security.
Stock
I don't know what they actually do.
Let the employees have job security.
I didn't.
Poor
I have no comments on this.
Knowing everyday that I did the best job I could do.
You have knowledgeable people and if you get along with people, you'll make friends for life.
Favoritism. Unfair criticism Lack of ownership from management.
Stocks
It's hard to get fired.
The company should be more open to change, technology and new ideas.
The compensation is low compared to other companies but on the other hand it is hard to find a high paying job in Florida.
Good benefits, good store, nice and understanding customers
Working in the deli is very fast paced, and there is a lot to learn
The pay
implementing a more intense training program
dressing nicely, being hygenic, and well rested
The workplaces is very diverse, moreso than i've ever seen before. Very good place to work if that is what you are looking foor
Serving customers
Low-stress environment, clientele is 95% pleasant, pay and benefits are nice, and very social setting.
The bar for entry is low/inability to attract and retain quality associates, the lack of accountability at the store level, and the unpredictable/constantly changing schedule.
Employee Stock Ownership Program
Benefits
Managers lie. About everything all the time. Abusive managers and toxic work environments. The Real Publix.
Health insurance.
Friendly environment
No employee discount
There are so many ways to grow in different departments, they give you stock after approximately a year (I think it’s like 1250 hours or something I could be wrong) and after 3 years it’s yours to keep. They give 12 weeks maternity and paternity leave with some of it being paid.
Some management members can worry more about their bonus than making sure their department had the tools it needs to operate properly.
I get discounts at stores (online and brick and mortar) and local restaurants.
I honestly don’t have an answer for this because I don’t know a whole lot about them.
Listening to their associates needs
I prepared by dressing business casual and my bubbly personality
Opportunity
Helping the customers with service that they didn't couldn't get anywhere else bad what made me smile
As one of the top customer service representation workers at Publix I definitely have the knowledge and skill of recognize when I customer in need a I don't care I would provide it for them and if I couldn't I find the next one person I could tell you
You work with people with mostly cheerful attitude the community has a nice fresh feel to it cuz the customers coming in and say hello and we only say hello to them so has like a family bond filling what's with that but for me I know it's time to move on because I need a horizon my accounts my accounts needs to be utilized more further
Flexibility
Stress
Flexibility
Ownership
Work all the time
Ownership/ Benefits and insurance food is great
I love the enthusiasm of the team very informative
I would keep it like it is
I got plenty of sleep I dressed up had my resume and ready to go
My compensation has been tremendous
The diversity of Publix is awesome many cultures
I like the friendly environment open door policy
I can walk. I like 3 people I am working with
I do not like 80% of the people I am working with
Flexible schedule nice employees breaks good pay
Rude customers
Lunch breaks discounts
The job is very flexible for part time employees
Severely lacking in communication
They give you gift cards every quarter
Friendly people, everyone is helpful and most pitch in to help others on the job!
Some people take advantage and just leave area assigned and leave customer .
Over all the benefits in general! My previous job I had no benefits!
The employees and customers are great. The flexibility and requesting time off.
Lack of communication
Learn alot about people and food products.
Great training experience. If you’re receptive to learning you will perform well.
The younger associates.
Paid time off!!!
Customer service, running a register, working with money.
Not enough hours
Customer service, ringing customers orders, working with (counting )money.
I like the friendly customers that I interacted with.
I didn’t like having a back to back load of tasks to do.
My favorite benefit was having stocks with the company.
Opportunity to grow and advance
Workload and expectations made from out of touch corporate associates
Bonuses that make up for not so competitive wages for management positions
Retirement/benefits
No work life balance and extremely high expectations
Stock given to you yearly
People, Publix stock, cafeteria
A couple of managers that are micromanagers
Retirement
What I like about Publix is the staff there are friendly and everyone gets along with each other.
What I don’t like about working there is standing up all day.
My favorite perk or benefit is healthcare and working remotely.
Benefits, co-workers, part-time employees can get health benefits.
No family and work balance, low wages, minimal training, no full time positions after probationary period as promised upon hiring
Stock
A lot of great co workers. Retail business is very stable.
Retail side of the business is very chaotic with the schedule and workload
The managers and employees support each other
Working nights
The health and stocks
The opportunity for improvement in the workplace.
Nothing
The retirement benefits
The opportunity for improvement in the workplace.
Nothing
The retirement benefits
The stocking job and doing counts
The people and the high stress
Health benefits
Amazing benefits, I wish I started when I was 16 years old. Usually, 2 pay raises a year. Quarterly bonuses based on store performance. Managers tend to be tough but fair and easy to approach. Made long lasting friendships.
Very difficult to get good working employees. Work-life balance was awful. Promotions are hard to come by no matter how good of an employee or how much knowledge you have.
Bonuses, Stock Dividends once vested. Vacation time
flexible schedule, friendly, work is not hard
boring hours, useless work ,
they give us bonuses
I love seeing all the faces of people that you help and if you work full-time you get a ton of benefits.
That you have to work full time to get those great benefits.
I love making friends with the customers.
