Employees can't afford to shop at Publix. Employees are made out to be the "villan" when customers behave badly - the motto is "treat customers like royalty" no matter the situation.
At the moment none - they cut long term employees hourly schedule so the employees don't get their perks such as PTO, Profit sharing, etc.
Not much - they treat hourly employees live peasants/serfs.
Hire managers with college degrees and management skills.
My initial interview lasted about 10 minutes - I ended up calling corporate about the interview procedure - they called store manager who stated he was too busy that day to conduct a thorough interview. I got a 2nd interview with the CS manager and was hired. For the first 3 years my experience went downhill due to the store manager's micromanagement but I stuck it out to my 5th year - can't wait to get out of there. BTW I was 69 years old when hired - they don't respect older employees.

Having a better sense of team morale together.....management often excluded themselves from the team always talking and "figuring" something out .....I would work with my employees create a sense of team spirit and commrodery from the top down!
First I tell myself to just be myself ....I will also study the company I'm interviewing with like the company's mission statement and the overall company's financial status as well....and what their plans are for further development.
It wasn't too bad....I made 22.80/hr as a Team Supervisor.

Developing new associates and watch them climb the ladder knowing you helped instill work ethic and proper training in them this is key to a company's success.

The pros I have come to realize while working for Publix are the employee stock opportunities, the schedule flexibility while I attend school, and the benefits that are given.
The cons of working for Publix might have to be the evaluations and pay increases. Pay increases no longer happen every 6 months and now are 1 year apart, the increase is also a percentage and never enough from what is scored on the evaluations.
The employee stocks and shares as well as the PROFIT plan would have to be my favorite benefit provided to those who have worked there for a long time and are given a retirement plan with a fallback.

There are so many ways to grow in different departments, they give you stock after approximately a year (I think it’s like 1250 hours or something I could be wrong) and after 3 years it’s yours to keep. They give 12 weeks maternity and paternity leave with some of it being paid.
Some management members can worry more about their bonus than making sure their department had the tools it needs to operate properly.
I get discounts at stores (online and brick and mortar) and local restaurants.
I honestly don’t have an answer for this because I don’t know a whole lot about them.

Amazing benefits, I wish I started when I was 16 years old. Usually, 2 pay raises a year. Quarterly bonuses based on store performance. Managers tend to be tough but fair and easy to approach. Made long lasting friendships.
Very difficult to get good working employees. Work-life balance was awful. Promotions are hard to come by no matter how good of an employee or how much knowledge you have.

My coworkers
The good workers had to make up for the work that fell short due to other employees or sometimes even management. There was little reward or incentive for working hard, so most people just slacked without any reprecussion from management. Most of these employees were even awarded full time or hire for simply brown-nosing the upper management. They also changed their raise policy to only annually so it would take more time to raise your wage, they refused to raise wages while other companies followed suit, they fired everyone on medical leave due to the pandemic and had no serious mask requirements so in the heat of the pandemic, customers came in coughing and spluttering with no protection for us. Many workers ended up getting Covid due to their relaxed management during this time.
The nicest perk is the stock.
