Summary:
Cath Lab Specific:
The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Cardiologist for diagnostic and interventional procedures in roles that include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. The technologist must have knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, hemodynamic monitoring, coronary and peripheral anatomy, and sterile technique.
Arrhythmia (EP) Specific:
The EP Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Electrophysiologist for non-invasive and invasive procedures. The technologist must have knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, arrhythmia monitoring, cardio structures, anatomy of the heart chambers, and sterile technique.
Vascular Interventional (VIR) Specific:
The VIR Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Radiologist for minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures in roles that include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. The technologist must have knowledge of the various imaging equipment in use including fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound.
Neuro Interventional Specific:
The Neuro Interventional Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Neuro Interventional Radiologist for diagnostic and interventional procedures. The technologist must have knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, hemodynamic monitoring, cerebral angiogram coiling, avascular malformations, stroke interventions and sterile technique.

Greets patients upon arrival to department. Checks chart for required data (i.e., informed consent). Reports absences or abnormalities to RN/physician. Explains procedures, gives instructions, and answers patients' questions. Participates in room turnover and transporting of patients.

Assists Radiation Safety officer in QA of labs and radiation protective apparel on regular basis. Performs tasks using radiation safety principles; checks lead aprons for tears; reports findings and removes inadequate gear from service; maintains accurate records or work with Radiology department to maintain records.

Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
Possess and maintain an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Active Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license from the Ohio Medical Board
Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification
Reliable transportation to travel to other MetroHealth facilities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of experience as a RRT in a critical care environment.
Extensive experience with mechanical ventilation, airway management, and hemodynamic monitoring
Possess a Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA
Possess an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) form the AHA

Summary:
Performs non-invasive diagnostic procedures in the Vascular Lab to detect, localize and quantify atherosclerosis, vasospasm, venous obstruction and other peripheral vascular diseases in the upper and lower extremities, neck, abdomen and thorax other than the heart; analyzes test data; generates preliminary interpretation report; discusses test needs and interpretation with physician; responsible for all aspects of training non-registered technologists and vascular ultrasound students in non-invasive testing techniques and interpretation; organizes and present in-services relating to vascular ultrasound and non-invasive testing to nursing, medical staff, and other hospital associates; provides for outstanding service to customers both external and internal, acts as an ambassador and advocate for the Vascular Lab to external and internal contacts.

Performs non-invasive peripheral vascular diagnostic examinations as ordered by the referring physician, independently evaluates normal vs. abnormal test results in correlation with patient history, previous examinations, lab results, etc. , and gives preliminary ultrasound results to attending physicians, surgeons, residents, etc. regarding any vascular ultrasound procedures as determined by site accreditation including 1. Sonographic Extracranial Carotid Duplex examination. 2. Ankle/Brachial Indices. 3. Segmental Doppler Pressures of the upper or lower extremities either with or without provocative maneuvers. 4. Sonographic Arterial Duplex examinations of the upper or lower extremities either with or without provocative maneuvers. 5. Sonographic Venous Duplex examinations of the upper or lower extremities either with or without provocative maneuvers. 6. Sonographic Doppler Venous Waveform Analysis of the upper or lower extremities for the evaluation of venous insufficiency or reflux. 7. Sonographic Duplex examinations of Hemodialysis Access Sites including AV Fistulas and AV Grafts. 8. Sonographic Venous Duplex examinations of the upper or lower extremities with concurrent venous marking and vessel evaluation for pre-surgical planning. 9. Sonographic Duplex examinations of the renal vasculature including arterial and venous structures and flow dynamics. 10. Sonographic Duplex examinations of the Mesenteric Arteries. 1 1. Sonographic Duplex examinations of the Aorta, Inferior Vena Cava, or Arterial Bypass Grafts. 12. Sonographic guidance for vascular access or needle placement for interventional and/or surgical procedures in either an outpatient, inpatient or surgical environment.

Analyzes data acquired in the performance of the examination in conjunction with established protocols and criteria to generate a preliminary report that accurately describes the anatomy and pathologies visualized and provides the referring physician with the information required develop an effective treatment plan. 2. Modifies exam protocols as necessary to fully evaluate the presence and extent of any disease processes present. Adapts imaging techniques and practices to acquire the best images possible while maintain the safety of both the patient and technologist. 3. Collaborates effectively with other departments and nursing units to expedite performance of requested examinations while minimizing disruptions to the patient and hospital operations.

Discusses anatomy and vascular physiology associated with the test in general and specifically as it relates to each patient's pathology. 2. Familiarizes the technologist or student with current scientific articles and reference books pertaining to the procedure s . 3. Discusses and demonstrates equipment operation. 4. Discusses and demonstrates testing protocols and criteria. 5. Instructs the technologist or student on interpreting the procedure and the proper method for preliminary reporting. 6. Trains technologist or student in proper documentation procedures. 7. Assists technologists or students during various stages of their training. 8. Develops and presents formal in-services for the technical, nursing and medical staff on non-invasive peripheral vascular procedures including, but not limited to, technique, indications, benefits and limitations, and contraindications.

Utilizes hospital approved software to accurately and completely document all aspects of patient care administered, including sonographic examinations, interpretations, patient history, interactions with customers, changes to the plan of care and billing information. 2. Assists in the compiling and analysis of data for utilization in the Quality Improvement program.

Reports changes in the patient's respiratory status to the Director/Supervisor of Respiratory Care Services, the nurse primarily responsible for the patient, and the physician, as needed, and prior to leaving the facility

Minimum Requirements:
Current Respiratory Therapist Certification or Registration for the state in which he/she practices
One year of respiratory therapy clinical experience preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

Manage ventilators (preferably GE 860), including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
Perform airway management including extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, suctioning, and tracheostomy care.
Administer aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy such as high flow nasal cannula, nebulizers, and trach collar.
Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and deliver medication administration (e.g., Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Nitric Oxide, etc.).
Collaborate in care of patients with COPD, asthma, cancer, and other critical conditions in a large academic medical center.
Requirements:
ALS, BLS , CRT
RRT credentials.
Valid Ohio state license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory therapy experience.
Preferred experience with adult critical care, emergency departments, and medication delivery systems.

Reports improper working equipment
Monitors patient's physiological status and responses to therapy such as vital signs, breath sounds, respiratory rate and pattern, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes.
Performs bronchopulmonary hygiene and assists patient in performing breathing exercises.
Performs basic life support measures, and responds to emergent patient situations.
Documents patient care in patient's EMR. Records accurate patient charges
Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to orientees. Serves as Clinical Instructor for Respiratory students
Maintains all respiratory equipment by performing daily maintenance, calibration, pre-use check out procedures and troubleshooting to ensure, and maintain, a state of readiness
Provide patient and family education on Respiratory disorders, therapies and treatments

Summary:
A Certified Respiratory Therapist delivers respiratory interventions and support for patients with acute respiratory problems, as well as routine care for chronic respiratory disorders. They assist in the treatment and management of patients with common pulmonary conditions, such as asthma, COPD, and pneumonia. CRTs administer respiratory treatments, monitor equipment, and educate patients and families on the proper usage of respiratory therapies and devices.
Essential Work Functions:
Assist in implementing and adjusting patient treatment plans under the guidance of physicians or RRTs
Examine and interview patients with breathing and/or cardiopulmonary disorders
Perform diagnostics tests, such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood/sputum samples
Administer respiratory treatments, including aerosol medications and oxygen therapy
Set up and monitor equipment to ensure the patient is receiving the correct amount of oxygen at the correct rate
Observe and record patient status and progress
Educate patients and/or family members on how to properly take medication and use equipment
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CRT practice
Required Essential Skills:
