- Leads morning meeting at start of shift and assigns work orders to technicians
- Ensures HSE policies and procedures are followed
- Obtains quotes and requests purchase approval for parts and materials
- Assist in repair and/or replacement of water and waste water plant motors, pumps, and associated equipment
- Assist in repair and/or replacement of lift station piping and structures
- Assist electrician in repair and/or replacement of electrical motors, panels and components
- Correctly diagnose equipment failure problems and be able to instigate proper repair procedures
- Work within confined spaces such as sewage/water equipment tanks
- Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions
- Diagnose computer generated telemetry reports on status of individual lift stations and lift station system in general
- Knowledge and skill to operate the necessary equipment and trouble shooting aids for failures at water and waste water plant sites on but not limited to pumps, motors, process equipment, and electrical components and generating associated reports using laptop or desktop computers
- Knowledge and ability to use a laptop or desktop computer to operate an electronic work order and asset management system as it relates to maintenance and repair of water and wastewater plant facilities and its associated equipment
- Ability to instigate, interpret, and complete work order forms
- Ability to safely set up and operate large tools such as pneumatic jack hammer, hydraulic and diesel powered pumps, hydraulic and gasoline driven saws
- Ability to work during night and/or early morning hours or for extended periods when required
- Ability to participate in weekly rotating "after hours" call out duty that requires prompt response on a 24 hour bases including weekends and holidays

You will be accountable for repairing and maintaining the centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, fans, blowers, steam turbines, pump seals and support systems.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience in the repair or maintenance of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps, compressors, fans, fans, blowers, steam turbines, pump seals and support systems
Three to five years of industrial rotating equipment experience
A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
A zero-tolerance for shortcuts, and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it
Ability to pass a Pump and Compression basic knowledge test
A valid driver's licence with a driving record acceptable to Suncor
Responsibilities:
Ensure everyone in your area of responsibility selects and uses proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools to do their tasks safely
Oversee visual safety checks and inspections on equipment to ensure it is running properly
Attend and participate in safety meetings, maintain exemplary housekeeping standards, and complete regulatory safety training
Participate in procedures and programs intended for both personal safety and mechanical integrity
Communicate maintenance issues in an open, honest and consistent manner
Work as a partner with operations to suggest and implement the best repair or service option
Build strong positive relationships to influence and act as a lead in the safety aspect of contractor management, typically through site-based kick-off meetings and field validations of contractor hazard assessments and/or verification plans to ensure controls are in place
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
