Set up and operate single hit punchpresses to produce parts according to customer specifications. Will perform other duties as required, including pressoperation.
· Assemble nests and dies to perform various single hit operations including float pierce, cushion pierce, semi blank, temp blank and various compounds using hand tools
· Set and adjust clamps and stops
· Position workpiece against backstop or manually align layout marks
· Measure workpiece dimensions throughout to ensure quality and repeatability
· Observe tool and machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction
· Visual inspection of first piece
· Issue job and safely check in PressOperator once set up is complete
· Collaborate quality control personnel and other team members to meet production targets and address any issues or concerns.
· Follow all company safety and operations policies
Requirements

General Description:

Summary: The Assistant Cutting Operator assists the lead in set up, adjustment and safe operation of all cutting equipment to prepare product to be packed, collated, or bound, ensuring the meeting of customer specifications, in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Assistant Cutter is also responsible for ensuring a safe and constant flow of accurately jogged and measured paper sheets from jogging stations to the cutting section.
Schedule:
1stshift, Monday - Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, or similar. Training may occur at other times.
2nd shift, Monday - Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM, or similar. Training may occur at other times.
3rdshift, Sunday - Thursday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM, or similar. Training may occur at other times.
Salary Range: $16.00 To 18.00 Hourly

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and operate batching system to ensure the completion of assignments
Identify priority jobs to be completed
Review job tickets and strategically plan work processes to meet customer specifications for custom jobs
Collaborate with side cutter operators by communicating inspecting and identifying order types
Troubleshoot machines, if possible, to resolve any problems and/or notify production management
Replace worn cutting blades with hand tools, as required
Set up job assignment specifications, obtain approval and run product once authorized by supervisor or Plant Manager
Monitor apparatus during run, adjust as needed to ensure adherence to specification including operating speed
Ensure completion of assignments by meeting quality/quantity specifications and requirements
Complete and process all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
Assist in cultivating an interdependent safety culture by reporting workplace hazards, related injuries, illnesses and or/near misses to management immediately
Attend all department/company meetings
Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required

Six months - one year of related experience with Polar or Saber cutting machines in a manufacturing environment
