Responsibilities:
Prepare and enter purchase orders. Resolve packing list/invoice discrepancies. Ensure inventory levels of all items purchased are in accordance with established purchasing practices. Coordinate item substitution approvals with order processing and the Project Managers. Account for non-conforming purchased material disposition, including scrap. Carry out the disposition of obsolete materials. Manage other purchasing-related projects as assigned.

As thePurchasing Assistant
for Tuffy’s Pet Foods, you will work closely with our Senior Director of Sourcing and Purchasing Manager, to provide forecasting, purchasing support and logistic support, while maintaining inventory of assigned raw ingredients.
The responsibilities of the position are listed below.
Your Responsibilities
- Place purchase orders and maintain appropriate criteria of all assigned raw ingredients
- Coordinate load sizes and determine logistics
- Assign and track logistics, including follow up as needed
- Work with production team on potential ingredient timing or shortages
- Work with Accounting/Production to resolve receiving discrepancies
- Coordinate intercompany ingredient sales orders
- Set up new inventory parts for assigned ingredients
- Request Supplier Approvals via the SAT for new ingredients
- Update and change Estimate Material Costs and Supplier for Purchase Part pricing on spot purchased assigned ingredients
- Coordinate and issue Nor-Am transfer loads to Tuffy’s
- Reconcile Nor-Am inventory monthly
