This individual shall work in the Purchasing Department and shall develop and authorize purchase strategies and ensure compliance with company policy and procedures. Areas of focus shall be to cultivate and uphold an effective rapport with development and sourcing team, planners and external business partners. The individual shall be well versed with international purchase dealings with focus on cost optimization and timely delivery of goods so that business operations can continue uninterrupted. Familiarity with semi-conductor laser components and SAP will be beneficial. The individual shall possess excellent communication and decision-making skills.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Manage request for quote (RFQ) process, generate cost estimates and target costs for commodity group Support contract negotiations within budgetary limitations and scope of authority, prepare and evaluate bids and vendor agreements, primarily of project specific materials. Manage materials and vendor master data and update purchasing information in SAP. Assist in new supplier qualification. Develop and maintain vendor relations, confer and negotiate with vendors both nationally and globally while ensuring compliance with company specifications, obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Develop timelines for the delivery of particular items so that production or special projects can proceed as required. Check invoices for accuracy and troubleshoot delivery related issues along with invoice and price concerns. Evaluate certain vendor and carrier performances, make recommendations for continuous improvement of global buying processes. Consult with development and quality control personnel, as well as with vendors, and other necessary parties regarding new materials, defective or unacceptable goods or services to determine source of concern and take corrective action. Communicate with people inside and outside the organization, representing the organization to suppliers, the public and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone.

Requirements

Well organized and detail oriented individual with a Bachelor's degree in business administration or supply chain management. A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply management and/or international procurement operation is required. Ability to work independently and with a team and experience with cost accounting procedures is helpful. Candidate will exhibit strong analytical skills and proven ability to foster vendor relationship and customer service. SAP experience is beneficial as well as excellent MS Office skills. Verbal and written comprehension of German language is a plus as well as familiarity of Import/Export requirements.

Acting on the direction of the Purchasing Manager, this position is accountable for implementing and controlling the procurement of raw materials, containers, cartons, and related packaging supplies on time and at the best price. • Conduct administrative duties of job as required.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future
• Must have Bachelor’s Degree or at least 4 years experience in lieu of education
• Must have at least one (1) year of experience in a Supply Chain function or completion of the GSC Accelerated Development program
Preferred Qualifications: • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Power Point)
• Previous experience in raw material buying
• Other computer experience such as QAD, Oracle, or SAP
• Willingness to relocate for placement or future promotional opportunities

Pratt & Whitney Aftermarket Supply Chain is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and experienced product and non-product buyer to support the PSD business. The Buyer, Purchasing will procure and manage the repair of product hardware and services in support of the day to day requirements of the organization.
Responsibilities:

This position will actively manage and analyze supplier base capability to comply with the Pratt & Whitney technical, quality, and delivery commitments along with Pratt & Whitney PSD's continued improvements with lead-time, cost reduction, and operational goals. The Buyer, Purchasing should look to foster a professional working relationship between supplier base, engineering, operations, and management through effective communications. The Buyer, Purchasing will be required to clear updates with regard to production meetings, delivery schedules, quotes, technical requirements, and to ensure that all company policies and procedures are in compliance.

Other areas of focus will be to identify repair sources, manage supply base, LTA agreements and manage exceptions to Pratt & Whitney terms and conditions. Supply chain performance monitoring will be necessary to ensure on-time delivery of quality goods and services for the business unit. The use of CORE tools is required to continually improve the procurement process and continue to drive the CORE culture in PSD and to the supply base.

Basic Qualifications:

+ A Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration, Finance or a related field is required or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience

+ 5 or more years of relevant work experience in supply chain, logistics or manufacturing is required.

+ At least 1 year of direct buying experience is preferred.

+ Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, be detail-oriented, possess strong negotiation and time management/prioritization skills and adhere to deadlines.

+ Ability to manage customer/supplier interface and manage a number of parts and suppliers is critical.

+ Experience in vendor auditing and evaluation preferred.

+ Experience working with the SAP system is preferred.

+ Some travel may be required
