McWane Plant and Industrial in Exeter, CA is seeking an experienced Buyer I who is responsible for the procurement of products, supplies and services necessary in McWane Plant & Industrial's operation. The Buyer I will also assist personnel engaged in the procuring of supplies and services in adequate quantities at the most advantageous cost while ensuring the quality of the product and services required.
Position Responsibilities
1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Wears appropriate PPE, including fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head, and eye protection.
Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Keep accurate information such as pricing, descriptions, and other miscellaneous supplier information current in the company's database to ensure accurate information is accessible to proper company personnel.
Input of purchase orders in the database. Close out purchase orders. Create and maintain purchase orders for special orders.
Schedule and coordinate all planned orders and special orders with the individual requestor.
Process discrepancies by contacting vendors, arranging parts, disposition, and processing paperwork.
Assist other departments with information regarding product availability, sourcing and prices and vendors with invoice payment.
Keep needed buyers and requestors knowledgeable of delays and problems of their respective purchases.
Process daily direct charges, updating residual variances, and setting up new warehouse stock items.
Advises warehousing personnel on re-stocking materials regarding quantities, pricing, and shelf-life to ensure the Company's inventory is correct.
Maintain the vendor database including name, address, phone number, email address, payment terms and minimum order amount. And maintain additional information including physical location of the vendor, pickup points of vendor, and names of contacts.
An extensive knowledge in the field of purchasing materials at various quantities at the most advantageous price.
Regular full-time attendance is an essential function of the job.

Work Environment:
The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily in an office environment, with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Qualifications

Initiative, ingenuity, and good judgement to properly perform and carry out duties. Works independently toward general purchasing results.

The Procurement and Planning Manager reports to the Director of Supply Chain to lead the buying and procuring of the company's supply of products and services. Manages data analytics and forecasting on purchasing, planning, supply chain, and inventory in collaboration with sales, production, warehouse, and purchasing.
Oversee and ensure collaboration between procurement, demand planning, supply planning, inventory, and consumption.

REQUIREMENTS
