If work in the transportation department I would not recommend it. It is run poorly. The supervisor, two dispatchers don’t care about the drivers that work for the district. There is no structure, no rules, and no one has a clue how to the run the department. There is favoritism, double dipping in overtime, any extra work is not known to the employees. You ask questions and no one knows the answer. Basically all incompetent management. Buses are old and not maintained properly. Only one mechanic. He sleeps most of the day and gets overtime constantly. If you are part of the union it’s useless. The union helps no one. A driver that started in February of 2024 was an unsafe driver. This driver had special needs on a bus along with a monitor. The monitor got injured while on the bus with this driver. The Monitor went to the doctor for neck pain. The monitor currently has a Workmen’s Comp. case with the district. The driver was still on probation for one year. As per the head driver there They took this driver out one day and decided that there was nothing wrong with that Person’s driving. There were more complaints by other monitors of this Driver. But the management/ transportation department Nothing. Normally, in this case, a person who is on probation, especially If they are unsafe to drive., That Driver is to be terminated. But that didn’t happen. This driver was covering for another driver for about 2 1/2 months. Once the regular driver came back., The new driver was not given any new run. Instead, the Dispatch Person Let this new Driver sign in every morning later than every other Driver for that day. Only worked one hour each day, but was paid eight hours for that day. When you are full-time driver, you have to work eight hours each day to work 40 hours a week. But in this case, this driver didn’t have to do that. And arrangement was made by one of the dispatchers that the driver didn’t have to work the full eight hours each day. If the driver was asked to do anything more than that, they whined about it. All the other drivers did their eight hours every day to do their 40 hours each week. Another driver was recently let go and had to resign from their position. According to management, they were complaints that this driver was unsafe to drive a bus. But they continue to let this Driver Drive a bus for the next three days even though they claimed the driver was unsafe. Never showed proof to that driver that this was a valid complaint. Leaving that Driv

There is nothing good about the leadership or management of the district and transportation department
If parents or anyone wants things to improve, there must be changes made with management. Especially the head, Bus Driver and Dispatch .
You can prepare for something that is not a good place to work for. They promise you things like a good environment and overtime hours. But that is not the case. I recommend recommending somebody to work. There is not a good idea.
Depending on your experience, the pay is OK. But other districts are better because management is better.
