Principal Accountabilities:
* Operation and adjustment of various packaging and product loading equipment including conveyors, elevators, presses/compactors, baggers, palletizers, hi-lo forklifts
* Perform quality control duties for various filled salt containers including bags and big bags. This could include taking salt samples, running tests, weighing product and recording results accordingly
* Collect product samples and utilize computer systems to input and record data as necessary
* Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks on the packaging and product loading/transfer equipment as needed
* Safely operate motorized vehicles used to move or lift products, equipment, or materials within and around plant
* Perform general cleanup of the work area including sweeping, shoveling, and lifting various salt product packages as needed
* Understand and adhere to all safety rules and regulations

Required Qualifications:

This position specializes in the operation of Zund CAD Table and Large Guillotine Cutters. You will follow order specifications and perform set-up and cutting operations, general and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and safety-related housekeeping.
Job Duties
Follow order specifications/special instructions and ensure all production materials are at cutter prior to set-up
Determine the best utilization of master sheet, cutting to customers' specifications
Set up and operate cutting machine with high proficiency
Operate assigned cutter by performing required adjustments, maintenance, and maintaining consistent quality.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reporting unsafe conditions and incidents, while maintaining quality standards
Verify dimensions of cut parts match work order
Identify poor quality material and notify supervisor and/or Quality Control
Measure to ensure specified dimensions of sheets
Observe operation of machine to detect malfunctions such as jamming wrinkling or tearing of material
Stop machine to make required adjustments, when necessary
Replace worn cutting blades
Record and report all finished production. Complete and process all related documentation via PC or tablet
Record maintenance and service calls in maintenance logbook as required
Train, assist, and support other team members in problem solving and meeting department goals. Continuously review current processes and search for improvement methods to improve product/process quality, reduce waste, rework and unnecessary work that adds no value to the work or process
Perform general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group and assists other areas as required.
Work enthusiastically to meet or exceed all performance goals
Conduct regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective action on equipment to achieve maximum machine performance based on equipment specifications and acquired knowledge of machine operations
Manage role with an understanding of changing priorities, sense of urgency, execution of results and support for the team
Inspect finished product before releasing to internal or external customers

Identify priority jobs to be completed
Review job tickets and strategically plan work processes to meet customer specifications for custom jobs
Collaborate with side cutter operators by communicating inspecting and identifying order types
Troubleshoot machines, if possible, to resolve any problems and/or notify production management
Replace worn cutting blades with hand tools, as required
Set up job assignment specifications, obtain approval and run product once authorized by supervisor or Plant Manager
Monitor apparatus during run, adjust as needed to ensure adherence to specification including operating speed
Ensure completion of assignments by meeting quality/quantity specifications and requirements
Complete and process all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
Assist in cultivating an interdependent safety culture by reporting workplace hazards, related injuries, illnesses and or/near misses to management immediately
