Responsibilities:
● Design and create layouts of data center infrastructure including facilities structure, cabinets, overhead ladders and raceways, structured cabling, aisles (hot & cold), cabinets, mechanical, electrical, servers, storage, and networking equipment.
● Perform capacity planning and resource allocation to ensure the scalability and efficiency of our data center environment.
● Monitor and optimize the performance of data center infrastructure components to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and business requirements.
● Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, collaborating with cross- functional teams as needed.
● Implement and maintain security measures to protect data center assets and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
● Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations with minimal impact on ongoing operations.
● Document configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
● Stay abreast of the latest developments in data center technologies and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
● Utilize AutoCAD design experience to create detailed technical drawings and models for data center layouts and infrastructure components.
Requirements:
● Strong knowledge of data center architecture along with the minimum design
requirements for a network, compute, and storage racks as well as layers 2/3 and virtualization platforms
● Proven experience in a colocation, inside plant, or telecommunications facilities engineer or similar role in a large-scale data center or telecom environment.
● Solid understanding of physical design standards and IT security best practices in data centers and colocation facilities.
● Strong understanding of public cloud infrastructure as well as cloud-native applications, preferably with demonstrable experience in helping scale the overall global footprint of a geographically diverse production network
● Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
● Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, VCP, Autodesk Certified Professional) would be a plus.
● Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software for designing data center layouts and infrastructure components.
Salary Range
$85,120.00 - $134,400.00 USD (Salary)

As a BMS/Control Systems DesignEngineer you will be joining a fun, growing, team of other Electrical and Control System Engineers, Control System Integration Engineers, and Technicians. Your primary role will be designing instrumentation and control systems for Data Centers. Projects range from high level conceptual designs, detailed site designs and retrofits, factory witness testing of equipment, and construction administration and verification. This role will communicate and coordinate with other engineering disciplines, teams, subconsultants, clients, vendors, and contractors to learn, implement, and verify Data Center Building Management Systems are designed and constructed properly. You will be responsible for managing your tasks including the Building Management System (BMS) design, specifications, and drawings. What You'll Do
Perform, lead, and oversee all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design. This includes PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structure analysis and loading trees, developing design criteria, sag-tension calculations, wire blowout, swing angle, damper
Utilize AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and other CAD software for scaled drawings and mapping.
Implement engineering redlines with precision and ensure accuracy before finalizing drafting/drawing.
Conduct engineering calculations, including voltage drop, cable pulling, flicker analysis, and pole loading assessments.
Prepare joint utility use authorizations based on field data and engineer redlines.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, design codes (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC), and construction standards.
Perform quality reviews to check for inaccuracies, omissions, or compliance issues, and provide recommendations.
Work collaboratively with engineers and project teams to develop solutions and modifications as needed.
Maintain detailed project documentation and support engineering calculations.
Work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with potential for up to 50 hours and occasional overtime.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
2+ years of related experience with routing and design of high voltage overhead transmission line facilities
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or similar CAD tools.

Generate Bills of Material and shop documentation in addition to supporting manufacturing as needed.
Regular communication with Inside sales, Kinetics reps & customers to clarify design data and to ensure drawing details produced are in line with specifications.
Interface with the shop to determine practical-manufacturing methods for the components required.
Advise sales/contractor at the jobsite to offer technical support to Kinetics reps or contractors as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or 5+ years' experience in professional engineering position.
Must be skilled in AutoCAD & SolidWorks cad systems. PDM experience preferred.
Moderate knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, weldments and manufacturing procedures.
Must be capable of producing cost effective & realistic designs.
Expertise with reading construction (building and layout) documents.
Understanding vibration, seismic & wind effects within building structures.
Experience in interpreting building codes & exemptions is preferred; IBC & ASCE
Must be able to function independently on projects within the job scope, completing jobs in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.
Good verbal and written communication. Must demonstrate tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and positive demeanor.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software; Outlook, Excel, Word, Share Point, Teams, One Note.

A Brief Summary of This Position:
This individual contributor role is responsible for the structural analysis and design of utility transmission and distribution structures fabricated by the Valmont Utility Division, Steel Group. The engineer will handle full design responsibilities for quotes and orders, and provide general support to drafting and sales. The role involves planning and managing design workflows to meet project milestones and collaborating with senior engineers to ensure customer specifications are met and designs are efficient and manufacturable.
Essential Functions:
Reports to the site Sr. Director of Engineering, NA Transmission ; no direct or indirect reports
Analyzes and designs steel utility structures (primarily transmission and distribution) using structural design software, including Finite Element Method (IMPAX)
Balances safety, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency in all designs
Interprets customer specifications, market needs, and sales input to develop compliant, practical solutions
Prepares and communicates engineering data for quotes and orders, including weight estimates and cost-related details
Supports Drafting team to ensure design accuracy and timely order processing
Reviews engineering and shop drawings, and evaluates as-built products for alignment with design intent
Coordinates workflow and project milestones to ensure on-time delivery
Provides internal and external technical support, including to customers, consultants, and contractors
Maintains effective communication through phone, email, and in-person interactions
May provide guidance to drafters and junior design staff
Participates in product and process improvement discussions to enhance team efficiency and morale
Recommends and coordinates testing to confirm theoretical designs when necessary
Ensures design compliance with Valmont, industry, and national codes and standards
Handles both standard and complex structural modeling tasks with appropriate support
Applies sound engineering judgment to projects with clearly defined objectives and variable challenges

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 2-5+ years of relevant structural design experience preferred
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
Proficiency in structural engineering principles and 3D CAD (AutoCAD)

Job Purpose
Joining Section conducts weldability testing and documents results to confirm that new model body structure can be manufactured in production. Properly document and generate reports for weldability testing and change request forms (CRF).
Utilize 3D software (Catia) to understand body construction and identify all unique weld stack ups.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Weld Engineering, or equivalent experiences.
0-2 years relevant experience, co-op experience preferred.
Musts: Microsoft Office (Excel / PowerPoint), basic ability to read a 2D drawing, strong communication and analytical skills, ability to make and follow plans.
Want: CAD software use - Catia 3D, Resistance Spot Welding Analysis, Knowledge of sealants and adhesives for joining materials, machining / fabrication skills, knowledge of gauging.
Working Conditions
20% office, 80% shop floor with hands-on experience.
