Raytheon Technologies pyrotechnician job description
Performs a variety of explosive handling and operational tasks. Also responsible for maintaining accurate explosive inventory control records. Must adapt to changing work requirements as necessary and as directed by delegated supervision.
Compensation:
+ $23.00 per hour starting rate
+ Eligible for Annual Increases
+ Competitive Benefits Package, including first day Medical
Schedule:
+ This position is for 2nd shift which includes an 8% shift differential of base pay.
+ Monday - Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
+ 1st week of onboarding consists of training from 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (no exceptions)
+ The Pyrotechnician role requires employees to train on 1st shift for 4-6 weeks from 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (no exceptions)
+ Overtime available on a business need basis.
+ Paid winter break.
+ Certain paid holidays
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Safely handles all explosives in accordance with Collins Aerospace standards and manufacturing procedures.
+ Reads and understands explosive/manufacturing procedures and processes.
+ Weighs, loads and inspects the column height of explosives and pyrotechnic powders in strict accordance with written instructions.
+ Issues, returns, and transfers explosives in accordance with established procedures.
+ Tests and processes explosives according to Collins Aerospace standards.
+ Makes recommendations to improve explosive handling processes.
+ Records data as a result of inventory, test, manufacturing, and processing operations.
+ Cleans equipment and facilities as directed using such solvents as soapy water or acetone.
+ Maintains explosives inventory including the storage and sampling of the product.
+ Under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, may blend energetic formulations.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).
+ High school diploma. In the absence of a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of manufacturing operations.
