Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee The Opportunity: The purpose of this role is to support underwriting operations by managing documentation, client records, and submissions, as well as assisting in the development of junior operations underwriters.

* The salary range for this role is between $64,000 - $120,000
Your new role
* Quote Support: Assist underwriters in preparing and distributing quote documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
* Binding Coordination: Facilitate the binding process by collecting required documentation and confirming compliance with underwriting guidelines.
* Policy Issuance: Generate and deliver policy documents, certificates, and related materials in a timely manner.
* Endorsement Processing: Handle midterm changes including endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
* Process Improvement: Support the implementation of new workflows, tools, and documentation standards to improve operational efficiency.
* Administrative Support: Maintain organized underwriting files and ensure accurate data entry in policy management systems.
* Internal Collaboration: Coordinate with underwriting, operations, and compliance teams to ensure smooth policy processing.
* Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all activities adhere to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
* Reporting & Tracking: Assist in tracking underwriting milestones and generating reports for internal stakeholders. and thoroughly
* Preferred Knowledge
* Familiarity with healthcare professional liability and medical malpractice insurance products.
* Understanding of policy lifecycle processes including quoting, binding, issuance, and endorsements.
* Experience working with brokers or agents in a support capacity.
* Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
* Proficiency in insurance policy management systems and document handling platforms.
* Exposure to process improvement initiatives or change management in an operational setting.
* Basic understanding of healthcare provider structures (e.g., solo practitioners, group practices, facilities).
Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance. Job Summary
Hanover Bank is looking for a full-time Residential Underwriter to join our team. The Residential Underwriter is responsible for the evaluation and approval of residential mortgage loan applications in accordance with Bank credit policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. This position supports both conforming and non-conforming loan products, including non-QM, investment property, and owner-occupied programs. The incumbent ensures that all loan files are complete, accurate, and meet established underwriting and documentation standards.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
To support a non-conforming and conforming loan product with standard loan package requirements.
Must be cognizant of Bank Credit Policy and investors' requirements related to all residential loan products.
Ensure that the loan file fully conforms to the bank's underwriting and document requirements prior to approval.
Knowledge of Non-QM investment properties and Owner-Occupied loan programs.
Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures, as applicable.
Maintain required daily job assignments.
Review and analyze mortgage applications.
Answer inquiries and questions from processors and loan officers. Assist team members when necessary.
Examine loan transactions and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness within the compliance requirements.
Maintain consistent turn time with new and resubmitted loan submissions promptly to meet scheduled closing dates.
Analyze title and appraisal reports for residential properties, including one to four family, condo, PUD, and co-op to identify zoning classification, building's structure, violations, and property type to ensure the health and safety, soundness, or structural integrity of the properties.
Education and Experience

Job Summary
Hanover Bank is looking for a full-time Residential Underwriter to join our team. The Residential Underwriter is responsible for the evaluation and approval of residential mortgage loan applications in accordance with Bank credit policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. This position supports both conforming and non-conforming loan products, including non-QM, investment property, and owner-occupied programs. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
To support a non-conforming and conforming loan product with standard loan package requirements.
Must be cognizant of Bank Credit Policy and investors' requirements related to all residential loan products.
Ensure that the loan file fully conforms to the bank's underwriting and document requirements prior to approval.
Knowledge of Non-QM investment properties and Owner-Occupied loan programs.

Review and analyze mortgage applications.

* Prepares quotes and answers questions from agencies, policyholders or other external contacts and escalates issues to management along with proposed solutions as necessary. Negotiates with agents to reach positive and profitable outcomes.
* Notifies agencies of adverse underwriting decisions, rate appeals, underwriting requirements, status and declinations.
* Analyzes quality, quantity, and profitability of risks underwritten and prepares reports for management review.
* Markets products and services through agencies or through the brokerage community and makes field visits. Develops and maintains agency and/or broker relationships.
* May provide guidance and assistance to other underwriters and to other functional areas, particularly when related to cross-sell opportunities.
* Keeps current on state/territory issues and regulations, industry activity and trends and freely shares information with others.
* Utilizes advanced functionality in relevant CNA systems to perform day-to-day activities.
* Works with more senior underwriters or management on risks exceeding authority level or requiring special handling.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
1. Advanced knowledge of underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.
2. Demonstrated high level of technical expertise and product specific knowledge.
3. Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.

5. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
6. Ability to exercise independent judgment and to make critical business decisions effectively.
7. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.

Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Professional designations preferred.
2. Typically a minimum three to five years underwriting experience.

In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $54,000 to $103,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
