* Safely lift, move, and stage merchandise weighing 50 lbs or more for shoots.
* Receive training and certification to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to transport merchandise around the facility to shooting areas.

KRIV FOX 26 / KTXH My20, the FOX Duopoly in HOUSTON, TX is re-imagining how local news is gathered and delivered. We're looking for a photojournalist/ content creator with a passion for creativity and ingenuity. We know you will appreciate the basics of covering breaking news, severe weather and gathering compelling video and interviews. But we're even more passionate about how you'll help us deliver that great content on our streaming platform, website and social media pages.
At FOX 26, we no longer wait for appointed times to deliver content. Our strategy is 24/7 content delivery. Throughout your shift, we'll be leaning on you to distribute live content or through channels like Slack to help meet the needs of our audience. On many days, you'll be paired with a reporter who will also create and distribute content with this same mindset. Other days you may be working independently, and we may even suggest you be part of our on-air content delivery through live voice-overs or even an occasional live on-camera appearance to help us tell the story.
To be successful in this role, you'll need to evolve shooting and editing skills beyond linear television thinking and workflows. The Photographer must have proven ability to shoot and edit video and stills in the field, newsroom, and studio. Candidate will gather information and interviews in the field and shoots remotes as assigned. Candidate will operate audio, video, and transmission equipment for live and taped broadcast and digital content. This position is also responsible for editing news stories on deadline in the field and in the newsroom. The ability to write and produce video for broadcast and digital is a plus. Position must contribute to station social media channels with information, stills and video.
A Bachelor's degree from a four (4) year college or university is preferred. Three (3) years of experience as a photojournalist or equivalent in the news department of a commercial television station required. Must have a valid driver's license and exemplary driving record. Candidate must have strong communication skills, work on tight deadlines and have the ability to deal effectively/professionally with the public, public officials and staff. Ideal candidate must have strong story telling abilities, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude. Must have demonstrated skills in operating photography, non-linear editing and live equipment. Must be able to adapt to changing technologies and workflow.
