Job Description

The Solution Demonstration Consultant will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Description
As a Dry Etch Equipment Engineer with Broadcom Limited's Wireless Semiconductor Division (WSD), you will own and support equipment used to develop and execute advanced processes in our state of the art 8” wafer fabrication facility located along the Front Range in Northern Colorado. Working with Technology Development and Process Engineering, you will be challenged by new materials, applications and device architectures. Responsibilities
Strong ownership of tactical execution and strategic improvement, including hardware and software optimization; reporting and ownership of related projects and metrics.
Provide technical leadership in evaluating, troubleshooting, improving and maintaining equipment.
Existing equipment upgrades and tool conversions with qualification support.
Develop and implement preventative, predictive and high precision maintenance procedures. Implementation includes documenting procedures, as well as training and certifying personnel.
Work with team members to meet organizational goals through the proactive identification of opportunities and the subsequent development and execution of corresponding projects.
Collaborate with Process Engineering and R&D to conceptualize and progress opportunities that enable continued technological leadership; working across roles & teams, both internal and external, to deliver benefit to the business.
Implement robust monitoring methodologies for equipment performance, preferably detecting deviation before product is impacted (e.g. SPC, FDC, baselining & matching).
Job Qualifications
BS in EE, ME, ChemE, or Materials Science is required.
5+ years related experience required
Experience with Dry Etch equipment is highly preferred.
Detail oriented with strong fundamentals in core equipment engineering functions.
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for process/equipment interactions.
Practical experience applying structured problem-solving methods.
Practical experience in Fault Detection & Classification (FDC) systems, including setup, diagnostics and maintenance of those systems.
Working knowledge and practical experience with SPC, DOE and statistical hypothesis testing.
Mature data analysis skills using tools such as JMP, Minitab, Spotfire and Excel/Access.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, common hardware and fittings with a demonstrated track record of quality workmanship.
Excellent verbal and written skills. Commitment to effective communication.
Initiative to address and appropriately escalate problems to achieve rapid resolution.
Basic understanding of MEMS and active device micro-fabrication techniques is highly desirable.

**The Successful Candidate Will:**
● Have a strong sense of design ownership. You enjoy collaborating with the engineers using your PCBs and working with them to generate feature improvements.
● Be familiar with current high speed PCB design techniques like blind/buried vias and backdrilling. You understand SI pitfalls like channel loss and cross talk and how to optimize designs to account for them.
● Feel comfortable in an EE lab. You know how to solder, run wires, and think on your feet. You are familiar with common EE debugging equipment - DMMs, Oscilloscopes, etc.
● Have a general understanding of transmission lines. It would be a plus if you have experience implementing detailed via structures for BGAs and connectors.
● Have a passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to creating quality output.

An entry-level embedded systems engineering position responsible for developing firmware and software for Broadcom products targeted at hyperscale data center applications. Broadcom's market leading products are enabling the next generation of AI and cloud storage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in the design and implementation of firmware for new integrated circuit products
* Develop quality software using best practices for all phases of the software design life cycle - analyze requirements, design solutions, code, test, and support
* Collaborate with senior engineers on system architecture - collect information on HW and SW requirements and specifications from project stakeholders, including customers
* Provide support to PCB and SI engineers for full system design
* Test manufactured HW and SW modules
* Assist with firmware integration and bring-up of new hardware and emulated hardware
* Debug embedded software using typical lab equipment like in-circuit emulators and logic analyzers
* Analyze new customer feature requests and opportunities to continuously improve the product
* Collaborate across multiple teams to root cause and resolve issues
The Successful Candidate Will:

* Feel comfortable in an EE lab. You know how to solder, run wires, and think on your feet. You are familiar with common embedded systems debugging equipment - DMMs, Oscilloscopes, in-circuit emulators and logic analyzers.
* Have a passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to creating excellent user experiences.
* Really love coding and the science of computer and software engineering. You are constantly learning and are familiar with modern practices in the discipline.
* Be familiar with common repositories like Git/GitHub, and open source languages like Python. You version control your work and automate your builds. You know a C and C++ toolchain like the back of your hand and know your way around an OS and how to write a shell script.
* Exhibit strong teamwork skills as part of a fast-moving, multi-site team.
Minimum Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $73,000 - $117,000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.

We're looking for an outstanding Senior Manufacturing Engineer (ME) who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. We're looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems.
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Broadcom, you will be at the forefront enabling our next generation Storage Area Networking platforms. You will be a technical product leader, within the sustaining manufacturing engineering team, responsible for end to end manufacturing processes and product quality, supporting our external and internal partners. You will develop engagement models with contract manufacturers, support new product introductions, establish mechanisms that help identify manufacturing or yield issues, support root cause analysis and process improvement. You are a learner and doer at heart, who continuously engages across business, technical and operational teams to achieve great outcomes.
The ME is considered a product expert and should be familiar with processes and systems supporting Quality Management Systems, Product Life Cycle Management (new product introductions through end of life support), Production Program Management, Account management, Cost Control, and Revenue support. The ME should have a solid foundation in electromechanical processes, custom enclosure assembly and how it influences and impacts Broadcom's business needs.
**Key Areas of Responsibility**
+ Drive manufacturing excellence and ensure the highest quality standards across our products
+ Become a Broadcom product and electromechanical manufacturing expert
+ First point of contact for all sustaining product, process and quality concerns
+ Own the end-to-end product quality lifecycle, managing metrics and drive continuous improvements with contract manufacturers and internal teams
+ Coordinate comprehensive failure analyses with global partners and drive implementation of effective CLCA's
+ Create and validate BOM structures, in Oracle PLMC tool, working closely with Doc Control
+ Physical FAI review and approval, including PLMC FAI creation
+ Author product or process deviations which define and document qualification builds
+ Work with Account Management on OEM product launches and various customer requests
+ Lead /facilitate cross-functional RCCA meetings, including Risk and Technical Assessments
+ Engage in NPI product life cycle management phases and provide DFX and production feedback
+ Define and lead cost reduction initiatives supporting annual operating plan
**Essential Qualifications**
+ Minimum 8+ years experience in Manufacturing or Product Engineering
+ BS in Engineering, MBA or MS preferred
+ Comprehensive knowledge in electromechanical assembly & testing of computing/networking systems
+ Expertise in PCBA manufacturing, system integration & test, and field return repair processes & tools
+ Well versed in SKU and BOM lifecycle management tools, such as PLMC
+ Demonstrated experience in new product introductions and collaborating with design engineering and contract manufacturing on product development, engineering/manufacturing specifications, and product launches
+ Demonstrated background in manufacturing outsourcing and fulfillment
+ Experience with DFX concepts (Design for Manufacturing, Cost, Quality, etc)
+ Utilize quality metrics in developing, monitoring, and improving operational objectives
+ Demonstrated experience with business communication, can effectively communicate with business, technical and operational teams
+ Ability to analyze and make critical decisions with minimum data
Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously
