Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a Principal Software Quality Engineer to support the Quality and Mission Assurance team located in Apopka, FL.
We are seeking a candidate with excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work well under pressure and adapt to changing tasks. Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and implement new processes, thrive in a team environment, and effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to work independently with all levels of management to identify solutions to complex problems.
Responsibilities:
Implementation of software quality standards across multiple programs
Review customer, system and software requirements to ensure the flow down of requirements is complete and unambiguous.
Review software design, code and unit test, integration, change specifications, and plans for contractual and/or process requirements.
Perform process audits of software development processes to assure compliance to established policies, procedures, work instructions, and program specific plans.
Interpret customer technical, software, and quality requirements and ensure those requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications, and product documents.
Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation plans to assist program activities for processing software and materials into partially finished or finished products.
Participate in contractual reviews and audits, program/IPT meetings, and configuration control board meetings.
Collaborate with software engineering and systems engineering functions to ensure quality standards are in place and followed.
Witness execution of software qualification and system acceptance tests to ensure tests are executed in accordance with approved test procedures, requirements are fully verified, and that all test procedure and software anomalies are documented and tracked to closure.
Peer review software documents to ensure appropriate content and adherence to standards.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other STEM-related field with 5 years of relevant software development integration work experience OR master's degree in engineering or other STEM-related field with 3 years of relevant software development and integration work experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of software development processes including Agile, Waterfall, and Spiral Development processes
Demonstrated knowledge of C, C++, Java, Python
Demonstrated experience in process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metric reporting
Demonstrated experience in process and product evaluation.
Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools such as DOORs, Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket
Experience in software build testing, qualification, and Integration and Test

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
