Core quality areas: • Product Improvement & Process Optimization • Compliance & Quality Systems • Testing & Certification • Field Service Engineering • Daily Quality Management Specific responsibilities include: • Leads the Quality Group and coordinate plant efforts to ensure proper response to quality non-conformance, and verification of critical measurements that support KPI achievement and development. • Responsible for identifying and fixing sources of internal product quality non-conformance leading to unplanned scrap and other waste. • Assists the Material Technology and Operations groups in process variation management. • Utilizes standardized problem-solving methods to implement irrevocable corrective actions. * Writes and maintains standard procedures (QSOPs) for product related operating requirements tied to Key Quality Characteristics (KQC). • Generate and/or supports plant trials and ensures proper change point documentation is in place. • Assists in the proper deployment of an ISO 9001: QMS and other possible certifications. Participates in layered process auditing. • Guides efficient daily operations for tensile testing, hardness testing and metallography. • Leads and guides the dispositioning process for on-site holds and rejections against customer and internal standards. • Supports the Material Technology group during claims root cause analysis and feasible containment actions and corrective actions. • Manages non-conforming material reapplication process to maximize mitigation of losses and reduce time in inventory through development of robust reapplication programs. • Conduct a closed interaction with customers and suppliers for quality or technical related topics. Travels to the customer or supplier site when required, • Supports the Supply Chain and Sales group with technical advice when required. • Monitors equipment within the quality system to ensure all critical measurement equipment is maintained, calibrated, and vetted for accuracy. • Utilizes automation and advanced measurement techniques to improve analytical capabilities of the facility. Capable of mass scale data analysis and interpretation.
