What You Will Do:
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer, Production Test Engineering Transformation Lead. The role will own test transformation initiatives including CORE Continuous Improvement (CI) Days, COPQ (cost-of-poor-quality) projects, FPY (first pass-yield related projects at the Middletown Engine Center, and New Product Introduction such as the PW1900.
Middletown has eight test stands and currently supports testing the F135, F100, V2500-A5 / E5, PW4000 94", PW1100G-JM NEO and GTFA, and PW800 MRO. Execution of these projects to drive process control will dramatically improve the company's quality and delivery signature. This is a 1st shift "on-site" role.
Lead test projects critical to improve test operational capability & quality performance to reduce troubleshooting times, test systems equipment failures, and first pass yield impacts associated with engine testing
Identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs / escapes and reduce overall product cost; work with Quality Engineers to perform root cause / corrective action investigations on quality escapes / turn backs; drive targeted process optimization activities through CORE tools such as CI Days and Macro Plans
Work with PDC leadership across multiple disciplines to optimize project execution and ensure alignment across teams; support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize and scope projects to meet PDC business objectives
Schedule and facilitate periodic project reviews with participation from key stakeholders; utilize project management tools such as GitHub or Microsoft Projects to track project schedules
Represent PTE at PDC Monthly/Quarterly CABs (Corrective Acton Board) and Collins Operational Excellence meeting
Partner with PTE Product Leads to maintain excellent work relationships with MTU Munich/Hanover and PW Canada (PWC) assembly and test personnel and other Military Sustainment / Commercial Aftermarket teams
Mentor Lean Six Sigma Green Belts with support from Engine Center Six Sigma Master Black Belt / Black Belts
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 8 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, project management, quality or related industrial environment or a Master's degree and 5 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing, operations management, project management, quality or related industrial environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Experience identifying technological solutions to resolve business challenges

Perform all the functions of a Ships Safety Watch(SSW), CASCON Operator and Dept. 272 Point of Contact (POC) IAW NAVSEA 0905-###-#### Manual for the Control of Testing and Ship Conditions and all local Shipyard Standard Procedure's (SSP), Multi-Department Direction's (MDD), and Single Department Direction's (SDD).
As a SSW you will maintain a continuous patrol of the ship, topside and below decks, and the areas adjacent the ship. Maintain the Ship Safety Watch Logs, note and report all violations of prescribed procedures or other abnormalities pertaining to ship security, safety, and watertight integrity. Immediately report all other hazardous conditions (such as a change in draft, trim, or list). Particular attention shall be given to the following: smoke, fire, or abnormal temperatures, leaks in ship or temporary service systems, Door, hatch, and passageway clearance, including quick disconnects on cables, hoses, or lines, fire extinguishers properly located, with up-to-date weight inspection record, air bubbles below waterline and safety draft marks, trim, and list. In the event of a fire or flooding, they will be expected to report the casualty. After reporting the emergency condition, they shall, IAW procedures take action to control or limit the spread of fire and/or flooding.
As a CASCON operator you will be required to operate the Shipyard CASCON system which will consist of sounding alarms, making public address announcements for causalities and specific announcements per written procedures. Communicate with EB's emergency response organizations, Ships Management and Ships Force on a regular basis.
As a Department 272 POC you will be required to be available in the shipyard to respond to problems that are related to Ship Safety when a Ships Safety Officer is not available. They will be required to patrol the shipyard and during those patrols, review SSW and Roving Security Patrol watches logs for unusual occurrences.

2 - 10 years of experience in work and/or testing involving submarine ship systems or shall hold a Navy qualification in submarines as a minimum per requirements.

We are looking for a Test Engineer II to design, program, validate, and document automated test processes for new Voltage Controlled SAW Oscillator (VCSO) and frequency synthesizer products, as well as support test processes for existing SAW product lines.
Our products in Simsbury include industry leading RF products such as:
Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) components and modules.
SAW dispersive delay line modules for RADAR pulse compression.
Voltage Controlled SAW Oscillators (VCSO) with exceptionally low phase noise performance.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with product line manager, other engineers, and product specification to generate test plan.
Generate acceptance and qualification test procedures, data sheets, and process travelers based on test plan.
Design, program, debug and validate automated test processes for production use.
Perform qualification, design verification, and/or other validation testing as required.
Design, validate, and document any necessary fixturing. This may involve PCB design.
Compile and analyze test data as needed.
Assist design engineer with development activities as required.
Perform root cause / corrective action analysis on WIP or field failures as necessary.
Work with other engineers to generate and validate all tools required by manufacturing to realize the product. These include drawings, process travelers, bills of materials, schematics, test procedures, acceptance test limits, process specifications, production aids, etc.
Work on other projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Required
A minimum of a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
Minimum of 2 years engineering experience.
Strong failure analysis techniques and efficient problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
