Fulfills requirement for continuous quality assurance inspection of all construction/renovation for projects in all facilities for regions outside of California (ROC). Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector validates compliance with appropriate building codes and standards, approved construction documents, and ensures construction quality assurance by conducting detailed construction oversight validating design intent, building quality, soundness of construction and durability expectations, as well as building maintenance and operational considerations.

Essential Functions:- Performs all Level functions plus:- Reviews the Contract Documents and provides support for the development of the project budgets and Request for Proposal for the Testing and Inspection Laboratories.- Analyzes the results of the Request for Proposals and participates in the selection of the Special Testing Laboratories/Consultants.- Review Testing and Inspection and Observation requirements and participates in the development of the Testing and Inspection Plan to forecast manpower requirements.- Participates in the selection of Project QA Inspectors, Special Inspection Inspectors, and Project Support Personnel.- Directs and manages Testing and Inspection Team in the day-to-day activities and provides performance input.- Attend all applicable Project meetings providing input on material testing and inspections, as well as issues relevant to general construction.- Facilitates Field Reviews with the appropriate Regulatory Agencies and Design Team.- Accountable for all Testing and Inspection project documentation, performance of the Testing and Inspection Team, and project budgets, on and off site.- Acts as Safety liaison, on KP behalf, in accordance with KP Safety protocol as required.- Provides mentoring to Apprentice QA Inspector's and reports performance to management.- Reports to the NIS Manager.- Works on assignments of diverse and complex scope. Interprets less defined guidelines to make recommendations for process improvements and/or enhancements. Requires complex planning to coordinate with other departments or resources.

Basic Qualifications:Experience- Minimum five (5) years of construction experience on major hospital construction projects and maintaining construction records required.Education- Bachelor's degree in construction related field and four (4) years of experience on Type I or Type II construction OR High School graduation and six (6) years of experience on Type I or Type II construction.- Note: Both of the above experience must be with a special Testing Laboratory, Architect, Engineer, General Contractor, or Specialty Contractor/Agency in Construction Quality Assurance/Inspection.License, Certification, Registration- International Code Council (ICC) certification or other applicable construction inspection services certifications or licenses required. Additional Requirements:- Regularly contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.- Frequently contributes to the development of new approaches and methods.- Employs expertise as a generalist or specialist.- Expert knowledge of construction inspection practices.- Broad application of construction and construction inspection principles, theories, and concepts.- Must be able to skillfully communicate with all Project Team Members, as related to all aspects of the project.- Proficient in use of: word processing, spreadsheets&construction scheduling software.- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
