Candescent is currently searching for a Quality Assurance Engineer (III) who is passionate about delivering high-quality software and championing a culture of quality throughout the product development lifecycle. This individual will work closely with Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and cross-functional teams to plan, build, and execute testing strategies that ensure technical solutions are secure, effective, and aligned with business goals.
The QA Engineer will take ownership of the entire product experience-from concept to operation-by simplifying complexity, upholding engineering excellence, and shipping meaningful improvements frequently. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Testing and Quality Assurance
Develop comprehensive testing plans, frameworks, test cases, and scripts for UI, APIs, and service layers.
Execute unit, automated, and manual tests for smoke, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
Document and track defects with clear reporting on severity and resolution status.
Build and maintain automated tests as part of CI/CD pipelines with DevOps support.
Apply best practices, engineering tools, and emerging technologies to enhance quality and delivery.
Product Strategy, Vision, and Planning
Participate in agile planning events (PI planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives) with quality-focused insights.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, and Designers to define quality objectives, identify risks, and promote early testing practices.
Help define acceptance criteria and develop test strategies including scope, environments, metrics, and reporting.
Product Design and Development
Partner with Engineers to ensure applications are testable and include effective logging, monitoring, and observability.
Review code developed by other team members and collaborate to achieve the highest standard of quality.
Analyze, design, and validate complex web applications on SOA architecture.
Ensure compatibility of system components and compliance with architectural vision.
Collaborate with QA, UI, SCM, Operations, and Business teams to create innovative solutions for consumer banking challenges.
Performance Measurement and Optimization
Monitor quality metrics such as defect rates and change failure rates.
Perform and coordinate performance analysis and troubleshoot bottlenecks to ensure high-performing applications.
Identify and implement improvements to enhance testing efficiency and delivery speed.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
5+ years of experience in QA using manual and automated testing for APIs and systems.
Expertise in smoke, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
Proficiency with test automation tools and frameworks: Java, JavaScript, Postman, Newman, Cucumber, JMeter, Selenium.
Skilled in building test strategies for highly transactional systems.
Understanding of BDD, ATDD, TDD practices.
Experience with Agile methodologies and troubleshooting complex issues quickly.
Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS).
Experience using SCM tools like Git and SVN.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
Strong analytical skills for reviewing technical specs, log files, and identifying high-risk areas.

Advocate for Agile Scrum methodologies and SAFe frameworks.
