If an engine were to fail on the test stand the individual is required to diagnosis and problem, solve engine failures. They may also do minor repairs to a failed engine. This position requires utilizing a hoist to move the assembled engine (weighs 300 to 500 pounds), torque wrench and impact gun to tighten bolts.
