Job Purpose
This role is responsible for supervising and maintaining the plants Quality systems to ensure compliance to regulatory, federal, and local laws. Areas of focus will include the identification and achievement of facility Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) KPI's through appropriate corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Actively engaged support in planning, defining, and directing the site auditing control program to ensure compliance to all procedures, and policies, GMP standards, Kraft Heinz requirements, and regulatory, federal and local laws.
Ensures compliance to Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) principles through routine auditing, reporting and trending or process and regulatory controls appropriately.
Support the Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS) and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list.
Trains, mentors, and leads site QA and Production team to ensure program goals are met.
Adhere to approved change control procedures, to include reviewing partial HACCP plans and issuing Agile change requests, as needed.
Monitors and maintains plant KHMS program by complying to current Kraft Heinz and International Audit (FSSC/ISO) standards. Facilitate and co-lead site cross functional KHMS Team and participate with stakeholders to insure successful certification for site.
Ensure all FSQ/KPI/MBO action plans are maintained and progress made to target(s)
Supports all internal and external inspections/regulatory visits. Support audit preparation activities, accompany inspector, and complete necessary reports and postings.
Performs follow-ups to non-conformances found and provides responses as appropriate.
Reviews and approves minor process change requests.
Creates and tracks Hold/Release documentation and dispositioning of products.
Completes or assists with validation studies for all CCPs, OPRPs and other significant controls in accordance with approved methodologies.
Provides expertise and actively participates in equipment commissioning and startup, ensuring standardization of all applicable quality and food safety procedures.
Expected Experience & Required Skills
Proven history of technical quality or production knowledge of policies & programs in Food or relevant manufacturing settings.
Education or Operational/On the job knowledge of Food Science, Food Production, Manufacturing Quality/Operations, or other relevant environments.
Strong leadership, technical, communication and interpersonal skills required along with attention to detail.
Knowledge of quality or production systems, procedures, & policies. Handle multiple assignments, develop work plans, & prioritize.
Knowledge of statistical processes.
Planning and organizing skills.
Successful candidates possess a positive focus toward problem-solving solutions with emphasis on long-term preventative & proactive measures through individual or team driven actions.
Must be able to work shifts, weekends, and all required overtime. Prompt and regular attendance.

The Quality Specialist is a key member of the Production and Customer Service teams, responsible for ensuring that all corrugated packaging products meet or exceed internal and customer quality expectations. This role functions as a manager of processes, leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality systems, procedures, and documentation in alignment with the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO standards.
The Quality Analyst will oversee product quality performance, investigate and resolve quality-related issues, and partner with production leadership to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
This full-time position reports to the Plant Superintendent and is based at our Rock Island, IL facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead and coordinate process and quality improvement initiatives across production operations
* Monitor and analyze daily production output to identify trends and ensure adherence to quality metrics
* Develop and maintain systematic processes for product quality reviews, complaint investigations, corrective/preventative actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement tracking.
* Establish, review, and update quality specifications, standards, and inspection methods for corrugated packaging products.
* Manage and strengthen supplier and customer quality relationships, ensuring clear communication and resolution of quality issues.
* Oversee document control and record management in compliance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
* Lead internal audits and readiness activities for ISO 9001, GMI, GFSI, ISO 13485, and FDA-related certifications, ensuring ongoing compliance.
* Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
* Develop and deliver quality training programs to enhance employee understanding of quality objectives, programs, and tools.
* Conduct internal process audits and ensure adherence to established procedures and quality standards.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure customer satisfaction, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Bachelor's degree in supply chain, quality, engineering, management, or related social sciences fields and 2+ years of quality assurance, quality control, supervisory, or manufacturing experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Strong computer proficiency and some statistical understanding.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting base salary range for this position is $62,914 - $78,642 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses or deferred compensation options.

About the job
The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for executing aspects of quality assurance and quality control processes. Tasks include developing and implementing quality standards, conducting product inspections, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with requirements. Lead, train, develop, support a team of Quality Inspectors, hands-on QA tasks, Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA), Standard operating procedures management and execution, inspections/audits, data integrity, and other Quality related activities.
What You'll Do

Support shingle manufacturing operations
Work with cross functional teams to build quality into processes
Lead, train, develop, coach/mentor, and support quality inspection team
Ensure compliance with quality systems, quality control strategies, policies, procedures, and standards
Oversite responsibility for plant quality control program including product measurement/testing, data collection, integrity, and defect management
Oversite for performance of quality test equipment and calibration programs
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities
Ability to analyze data to understand issues and opportunities for improvement
Knowledge of basic data analysis techniques. (e.g. pareto charts, histograms, pie and bar charts and control plans)

What We're Looking For
