This position will manage and implement quality and food safety systems at the manufacturing site to meet or exceed customer, regulatory and company requirements.
This leader is responsible for assuring released product is safe for its intended use and that quality attributes are clearly monitored, reviewed and deemed acceptable.
The QA Manager will support all safety programs, policies and procedures, and have a personal value system that will assist in creating a work environment that is based on trust, human dignity, and honesty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all quality and lab functions at the site, including sampling, testing, product dispositions and related technical services.
Coordinate and maintain site Food Safety Plans to meet FSMA (21 CFR 507) and food safety code standards, including management of required documentation, verifications and validations as it relates to preventive controls and pre-requisite programs.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and product identity site requirements, including those required for USDA-APHIS certifications for export, Organic certifications and other programs as identified.
Serve as HACCP/HARPC/Food Safety Team Coordinator, PCQI and SQF Practitioner for the site. Work closely with site management team to drive adherence to food safety systems and programs. Lead initiatives as assigned, to include support of change management and continuous improvement.
Manage, support and/or influence policies and procedures to comply with quality and food safety requirements. Implement and provide training on new procedures as needed. Promote culture of audit-readiness at all times.
Implement/manage internal audit and CAPA systems to allow for easy tracking and close-out of site corrective and preventative measures.
Execute root cause analysis for non-conformances, including product quality, food safety or customer issues. Support production facility management team in responding to customer corrective actions. Interpret requirements and monitor activities to identify when further investigation may be needed.
Communicate effectively with internal customers (human resources, maintenance, shipping / receiving, purchasing, customer service, production, etc.) and external customers. Be a key leader for facility audits, including customer, third-party and/or regulatory inspections.
Recognize business risks associated with quality and food safety deviations; respond and communicate effectively and expediently according to identified risk.
Review and recommend changes to processes or equipment in areas of ownership to continuously improve quality assurance functions and services.
Management of site quality budget.
Support the Poultry Platform Director of Quality on specific or assigned projects.
Cross-train on quality programs and initiatives within 3D Poultry as needed.
Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and overnight as required.
Other tasks as assigned.
BACKUP PERSONNEL: The site backup PCQI will provide coverage for this position, with support from Platform and Corporate Quality, when the Quality Assurance Manager is absent or when the position is vacant.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will have multiple direct reports at the site.
TRAVEL: This position requires occasional travel to company and supply facilities, including some overnight travel. More extensive travel should be expected during the first three months of hire.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university preferred. Degree considerations: Food Science, Agriculture, Animal Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc. Five or more years of experience within quality and/or food safety in food or pet food manufacturing with demonstrable quality management experience. HACCP certification required. Certifications and trainings for SQF, PCQI, Internal Auditing and Food Defense strongly preferred.

**About the Role**
+ The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring quality of technology that PSI provides to its customers. The person in this role works closely with the Software Engineering teams to understand what has been developed. **Role Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for managing and executing end-to-end testing for key technology platforms and be accountable for test projects.
+ Use principles, guidelines, and best practices as defined, and document testing plans.
+ Gather and present testing metrics and testing activities for the projects to key stakeholders.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements**
+ 3 years' experience in progressively responsible information technology.
+ Proven experience and knowledge of QA methods, standards and processes, e.g. Agile / SDLC.
+ Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
+ Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and with automation testing technologies.
+ Experience with version management and ticketing systems, e.g. SVN, Jira.
+ Experience with RDBMS and SQL, ISTQB principles, testing and debugging in multiple browsers/OS, and experience with API testing tools such as Post-Man or Soup UI.
+ Experience with accessibility testing is huge plus.
+ Experience with QA automation tools, test automation frameworks, writing and executing the automation scripts with Selenium WebDriver in JAVA or C# is preferable but not essential.

The primary purpose of this position is to assure that only fresh wholesome products which meet our food safety & quality standards are received into the distribution center and maintained through distribution to retail supporting our mission to provide our customers with wholesome, fresh and high quality products. In addition, this position supports regulatory compliance requirements specific to Seafood HACCP and FDA's Food Safety Modernization Act.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform hands-on and detailed inspections of inbound deliveries of multiple commodities delivered to ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company requirements for quality, condition, wholesomeness, package integrity, temperature, expiration or pack dates, proper counts, weights, and sizes • Maintain up to date knowledge of procurement specifications, FDA Food Code, FDA, USDA, state and local regulations
* Conduct detailed produce quality evaluations on key focus items verifying the grade, brix, firmness, color, condition and eating quality and report results to commodity buyers and merchandisers
* Conduct Seafood HACCP inspections and accurately complete all required records in accordance with the Seafood HACCP Plan
* Conduct ripening of bananas to assure quality fruit is shipped to the stores. Ensure all aspects of this program are performed to company standards within the distribution center. Communicate banana ripening results to buyers and key associates as needed and drive continuous improvement in the program
* Conduct regular inspections of banana ripening rooms to ensure they are maintained and cleaned in accordance with company standards
* Conduct daily surveillance and aged inventory inspections of produce storage coolers to assure product is rotated correctly and is being shipped to the stores in a timely manner so as to maintain freshness for the customer
* Conduct daily code date inspections of other commodities to ensure products are properly rotated and shipped to stores within company remaining shelf life standards
* Conduct daily preventative controls monitoring records/checklists for effective monitoring of critical control points, preventative controls and prerequisite programs; properly report findings and initiate corrective actions as required
* Work with category and commodity buyers to enforce quality specifications covering all incoming products
* Provide commodity buyers with information related to quality levels of incoming products
* Work with commodity buyers to ensure proper disposition of products refused for quality issues
* Ensure commodity buyers are made aware of any problems having an adverse effect on product quality and are involved in proper disposition of suspected products
* Monitor and investigate store complaints of poor quality. Initiate immediate corrective actions, identify root cause(s) and report to distribution and commodity teams as appropriate
* Act as a liaison between distribution and the commodities teams
* Be a resource to our business partners and suppliers
* Maintain and observe good/safe working practices as they pertain to OSHA guidelines. Immediately report unsafe conditions/working practices to management and assist in the implementation of corrective actions
Basic Qualifications:
* High school diploma/equivalent
* Self-motivated and able to function with minimal supervision, yet work within a team environment
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Have experience as a produce, meat or seafood manager or produce receiving associate
* Knowledgeable of USDA standards, rules and regulations and have the ability to identify certain species, diseases, varieties and defects and determine their severity as it relates to accepting or rejecting product at delivery
* Familiar with Federal , State and Local regulatory requirement
* Must be available to work shifts which may include nights and weekends
* Ability to complete Food Protection Manager Certification & Seafood HACCP Certification training
Preferred Qualifications:
* Advanced knowledge of USDA standards of all produce commodities • Three to five years as produce manager, produce distribution or equivalent produce experience • Food Protection Manager Certification
* Seafood HACCP Certification

ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $26.54 - $39.81
