The testing lead will be responsible for defining, managing, and executing the end-to-end testing strategy for Project Polaris and other enterprise transformation initiatives. QA Lab Technician Trainee Qualifications: * Two (2) year Associates degree or work experience assessed as equivalent by the Laboratory Manager * Successful completion of training requirements as outlined by the laboratory management * Knowledge of the petroleum products, the petroleum industry, statistics and computer skills are helpful * Good communication skills with managers and employees required * Must have successfully completed and passed a Functional Job Capacity Evaluation (FCE), ACT Workkeys CLICK HERE for testing locations QA Lab Technician Trainee Responsibilities: * Practice good laboratory safety habits and participate in all safety training as required * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment at all times * Maintain and follow ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 related standard practices and procedures * Identify and report deviations from the laboratory's quality management system, SQC program, or from procedures for performing lab activities * Report to laboratory management on the performance of the laboratory's quality management system and any need for improvement * Ensure the effectiveness of laboratory activities * Provide analytical support for the refinery and terminal operations through requested sample analysis and evaluation * Provide certification support for all product lines * Monitor all lube oil products and certifications statistically for variation * Maintain required inventory levels of all supplies for continuous laboratory operation * Maintenance and disposal of retained samples * Proper handling and cleanliness of all equipment * Perform equipment verifications as dictated by procedures or standard lab practice * Available for call out when scheduled QA Lab Technician Trainee Additional Training and Qualifications (post hire): * Technician is hired is as a Quality Laboratory Technician I Trainee. * Complete the Quality Laboratory Technician I training requirements as outlined in the Job Qualification Workbook within six (6) months of hire date. Once this requirement has been met, the technician will be promoted to Quality Laboratory Technician I (Temporary). * Work independently conducting all Level I testing for a minimum of 40 hours per year, and work independently conducting the specified Level II testing (2 columns as described in the Job Qualification Workbook) for a minimum of 160 hours per year. Once this requirement has been met, the temporary tag will be removed. * Continuously document the required hours in both areas of the lab in each 12-month rolling period to maintain the qualifications. * Complete and pass periodic competency checks. Frequency will be up to the management team. * Attend monthly safety meetings with laboratory staff. * Failure to complete the required trainings and qualifications could result in a 30-day probation, leading into grounds for disciplinary action as determined by management. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. A clean MVR is required.
