Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Public Health, or related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance. 3+ years of leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment. SQF Practitioner Certification preferred. Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOP, USDA, FDA, and SQF standards. Exceptional problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills. The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Specialist supports the FSQA and plant operations team by performing food safety and quality assurance tasks. This role involves overseeing supplier quality management programs, auditing compliance, and developing quality agreements to ensure the highest standards in our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities + Establish and maintain a Supplier Quality Management Program for CMOs, CTLs, 3PLs, raw material suppliers, and packaging component suppliers. + Develop and maintain critical SOPs for supplier management, including supplier qualification, auditing, issue resolution, and change control. + Monitor supplier performance through quality metrics, supplier evaluations, and risk assessments. + Develop and maintain a supplier qualification and requalification process to ensure ongoing compliance. + Plan, coordinate, and execute supplier audits to assess compliance with cGMP, ICH, and regulatory standards. + Collaborate with suppliers to address audit findings and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). + Spearhead the development, negotiation, and maintenance of Quality Agreements with CMOs, CTLs, 3PLs, and material suppliers. + Ensure Quality Agreements align with regulatory requirements and internal quality expectations. + Manage supplier-related deviations, non-conformances, and CAPAs, ensuring effective root cause analysis and resolution. + Ensure supplier quality practices comply with FDA, ICH Q7, USP, and ISO 9001 (as applicable). + Support regulatory inspections and internal audits by providing supplier quality documentation as needed. + Author, review, and maintain essential SOPs governing supplier qualification, audits, risk management, supplier monitoring, and supplier-related change control. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field). + 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, or Quality Compliance in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated industry. + Experience managing supplier audits, supplier qualification programs, and quality agreements. + Strong knowledge of cGMP, ICH guidelines, FDA regulations, and quality systems. + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills. + Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working with CMOs, contract laboratories, and 3PLs is highly preferred. Work Environment The Quality Assurance team operates within a pharmaceutical/antiseptic solutions manufacturing environment. The company follows FDA and GMP guidelines. The role is based in a brand-new office with individual cubicles. The work schedule follows the first shift, typically from 8 am to 4 pm, with some variability. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for in-depth review and evaluation of operational systems, documentation and service delivery according to the expectations and regulations of the various funding sources and with the highest professional standards. This requires face-to-face meetings with member or guardian, treatment teams and external collateral to identify goals, objectives, specific mental health services needed and identification of staff responsible for delivering the services. • Advises direct service staff regarding appropriate responses to members' needs. • Develops criteria by which to review the delivery of all departmental services and make recommendations to assure they operate using the values and principles of recovery. • Ensures that the department functions optimally, in conjunction with other branches or departments of Thresholds. • Provides accurate and timely information to superiors on all topics and issues related to the operation of the agency and the wellbeing of its staff and members. • Oversee weekly reporting for submission to IDHS. • Document Thresholds and IDHS Quality Indicators across transition. Create and complete agency reports for submission to IDHS and the Court. • Acts as an additional clinical eye and facilitates communication between all internal and external treatment providers and supports. • Participates in Critical Case Review Panel calls with the state and completes needed follow up in collaboration with the Program Director. THIS POSITION WILL BE SERVING THE NORTH SIDE OF CHICAGO MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • May be required to participate in crisis intervention when necessary. • May be required to attend various trainings developed by funders. • May be required to supervise graduate students at the request of Program Directors or other supervisors as appropriate. • May be required to provide other clinical services as needed to facilitate the quality of services across programs. EDUCATION Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or closely related field required. Licensed Mental Health Professional (LSW, LPC, LCSW, or LCPC) is preferred. EXPERIENCE • Four (4) years of prior direct clinical experience preferred. • Demonstrated management experience at an appropriate senior level, including establishing, leading and managing large teams and resources. • Excellent planning, organizing and team-building skills. • Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of the organization. • Ability to function in a computer oriented office, including working knowledge of pertinent software.
