The Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for the daily requests, preparation and distribution of product certifications, including electronic and manual generation and distribution of Certificates of Conformance (C of C) and Certificates of Analysis (C of A) for all Mactac products, assisting with the maintenance and processing of the document control system including manual and electronic document control files/software, procedures, record retention, change control and training records. In addition, the position is responsible for supporting the internal auditing program, assisting in the document preparation and distribution of RDT trial and standard Mactac product specifications as needed. Support role includes assisting with other clerical duties and laboratory support as required to support the Quality and Research & Development Department. Full-time Description The Quality Assurance Manager (QA) will be responsible for both leadership and hands on activities involving quality assurance, establishing, and validating specifications, customer complaint resolution and compliance with ISO9001 standards. The QA Technician is responsible to ensure product quality and product safety are consistent with corporate objectives. Additional responsibilities include performing raw material receiving testing, in process and finished product testing, document review, formulation, auditing and project work. This position requires a high level of analytical, technical and communication skills. This is a 2nd Shift role with a schedule of Monday- Friday 2:30PM - 11PM. Key Responsibilities Prepare shift reports as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager. Perform line inspections and raw material verifications prior to production beginning after a changeover or at the start of production for the week. Validate sanitation effectiveness and complete Post-OP or Pre-OP sanitation inspection report. Constantly inspect product as it is being produced to ensure it meets the benchmark standard and customer expectations and stop production immediately if out of tolerance deviation occurs. Verify all on line inspection sheets and production documents prior to and during production. Sign off on all changeover check sheets as quickly as possible to verify all details are correct or to minimize the amount of product to be put on hold. Place all out of specification products and/or raw materials on hold using an orange QC Hold tag. Conduct and report daily GMP audits and corrective measures on designated shift. Perform a walkthrough with the shift supervisor at least once per week. Assist in maintaining retained production samples for each product produced. As needed, assist with training of new employees and refresher training of existing employees in GMP, HACCP and other certifications as needed. As needed, assist with customer complaints investigations. As needed, assist with sample preparation and shipping. As needed, assist in keeping Process Sheets up to date with production notes and speeds. As needed, assist with required Quality Assurance reports. As needed, conduct taste tests to ensure production run matches previous runs/samples. As needed, assist with R/D tasks and production sample runs/trials and report. The Quality Technician is responsible for providing service in support of quality and engineering initiatives by focusing on product testing, process improvement and customer satisfaction through the quality management system. Job Description The Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for the daily requests, preparation and distribution of product certifications, including electronic and manual generation and distribution of Certificates of Conformance (C of C) and Certificates of Analysis (C of A) for all Mactac products, assisting with the maintenance and processing of the document control system including manual and electronic document control files/software, procedures, record retention, change control and training records. In addition, the position is responsible for supporting the internal auditing program, assisting in the document preparation and distribution of RDT trial and standard Mactac product specifications as needed. Support role includes assisting with other clerical duties and laboratory support as required to support the Quality and Research & Development Department.
