Step into a hands-on quality role where your measurements, observations, and judgment keep people safe. As a Cylinder Quality Assurance Technician at Worthington Enterprises, you'll conduct regulatory and customer-specific testing on high-pressure cylinders and document every result with precision.
A day in the role
You start your shift by preparing the lab: verifying calibrations, reviewing test plans, and setting up equipment. Over the course of the day, you:
Perform internal testing, internal checks, and cosmetic inspections on various cylinder types and sizes.
Run burst, volumetric, and proof tests to confirm integrity and compliance.
Carry out titrations and calibrations, ensuring instruments are accurate.
Complete all lab work and paperwork with thorough, traceable records.
Operate the real-time x-ray booth (where applicable) to evaluate internal features.
Obtain samples using a band saw or plasma torch; prepare bend test, macro sample, and tensile specimens with a belt sander.
Assist with other duties as assigned, collaborating with production and quality teammates.
Schedule
Must be flexible for assigned shift. This is an off shift role.
Shifts: 2nd shift - 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (Monday through Friday).

Perform quality chemical analysis on samples for: fat, solids, acidity, pH, etc. Complete bacterial analysis on samples.

**Responsibilities**
1.0 **JOB DESCRIPTION:**
This position involves working in a self-directed team environment to provide support to the product test (PT Lab) teams. The primary responsibility of an individual working in this position is to conduct functional performance tests of molded plastic closure systems, and to then summarize and prepare written reports of the test results. The testing is accomplished through the use of mechanical tools and test equipment, as well as, manual manipulation of the closure systems. The test evaluation data is collected and entered into a PC Spreadsheet software is used to organize, analyze, and report the data.
2.0 **PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:**
2.1 _Maintains a safe and clean work environment by employing 5s philosophy._
2.1.1 Is trained in all applicable safety policies and procedures.
2.2 Coordinates assignments with other Lab Team members.
2.3 References master list of equipment used and tests performed.
2.4 Performs inspections and/or conducts performance tests as requested in compliance with lab test methods.
2.4.1 Verifies that the equipment to be used is in calibration.
2.4.2 Inputs collected data into a PC.
2.4.3 Summarizes test results, including statistical calculations, and reports findings.
2.4.4 Archives the CR when a request is completed.
2.4.5 Audits the results of other technicians (peer review).
2.5 Helps develop new test methods, or extend existing methods to new applications.

We are looking for a Quality Control Technician that will be responsible for problem solving, decision making, and supervision of all quality related activities on the shift. Understands and assures compliance with established control plans and sampling frequencies, and effectively communicates to all production departments and management any variations. Participates in departmental activities by conducting physical tests and visual check to monitor various phases of the production processes. Evaluates collected data for produce acceptability. Records data and prepares necessary reports. Required to advise the relieving Technician, in person, of the activities of the shift, current quality levels, and planned events on the next shift.

Operates TRI-DA to monitor glass distortion
Operates spectrophotometer to monitor glass spectral properties
Scales to measure tonnages
Performs visual checks for internal flaws and surface nonconformances -- edge light.
Performs ream checks for monitoring glass homogeneity
Analyzes glass defects utilizing the microscope
Assures instrumentation is calibrated.
Records data via hard copy and electronic media for record retention and data analysis.
Communicates quality concerns and provides statistical data as necessary

* Ensure that the technicians have been properly trained on test methods and/or procedures
* Mentoring and monitoring the development of the Product Quality team members
* Implementing strategies to increase the engagement and empowerment of Product Quality team members
* Leading the Quality Lab High Performance Team and participating in process improvement initiatives throughout the plant
* Ability to travel (less than 10%)

Engineering Technicians work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Safety teams to drive reliable, efficient, and innovative manufacturing processes.
What You ll Do:
Bring automation to life Install, optimize, and troubleshoot robotic and automated systems to keep production running at its best.
Lead changeovers with speed and precision Make product transitions seamless through efficient automation adjustments.
Innovate on the floor Design and build robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), automation work cells, and more.
Champion safety Partner with safety teams to lead improvement projects and create a safe, proactive work environment.
Own your projects Manage small-to-mid scale technical initiatives from concept to completion while balancing daily operational needs.
Drive continuous improvement Reduce downtime, speed up changeovers, and advance our automation capabilities.
What We re Looking For:
Technical degree or degree in Engineering (preferred)
