CF Industries has many exciting and challenging opportunities at its world class production facility in Yazoo City Mississippi. The employee in this position will be responsible for the analysis of a wide range of samples submitted by the Yazoo City Complex to ensure they meet quality specifications. These include in process samples, raw products, and finished products. The employee will also perform routine analysis on environmental samples, quality control and calibration of laboratory instrumentation, and data entry.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive and log samples into LIMS system
Perform Analytical Chemistry testing as required
Prepare Reports of Analytical Chemistry Results
Check, Calibrate, and Maintain Laboratory Equipment
SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENTS WILL HAVE:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry from an A.C.S. accredited chemistry program is preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in other physical science disciplines will be considered if strong evidence of laboratory analytical chemistry skill is demonstrated
Minimum of 1 year of Analytical Chemistry laboratory experience preferred
Experience with ICP, UV-VIS, GC, IC, and FT-IR, is valuable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Both informal and formal data reporting and use of IT will tools be required
Presentation skills sufficient to communicate thoughts succinctly to Lab Supervisor and Operations managers
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent time management skills and be comfortable working in an environment where priorities change rapidly

POSITION SCOPE/CONTRIBUTION:
The Chemist in this position will work closely with one or more quality control technicians and will be responsible for analysis of a wide range of samples submitted by the Yazoo City Complex. Certain samples will need to be collected by the lab. Samples are analyzed to ensure they meet quality specifications as set by the company and our customers. Employees working in this lab must be fully committed to CF's Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality objectives. This position requires 12 hour rotating shifts, mandatory overtime, and weekends.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Perform dimensional inspections and determine acceptability against applicable standards or specifications
Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections, including Visual Testing (VT) and Liquid Penetrate Testing (LPT), and determine acceptability against standards or specifications
Provide inspection and quality documentation support for Manufacturing Engineering
Perform Pitchometer floor layouts for large, fixed-pitch propellers
Accurately document and maintain inspection and quality records
Maintain the calibration database and report any Out-of-Tolerance (OOT) tooling
Report results of in-process and final inspections to the Quality Manager
Perform receiving inspections of purchased goods and materials
Create, issue, and close out Non-conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs) as required
Review quality documentation for accuracy, currency, and relevance; update documentation as needed
Perform in-process audits within the foundry, finishing, and machining departments to ensure compliance with established processes and policies
Adhere to all prescribed safety rules and regulations
Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager
Basic Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing and/or inspection experience
Working knowledge and hands-on use of standard measuring and test equipment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs., including in awkward or confined positions
