RESPONSIBILITIES:
Senior Team lead for verification and validation of electronics gear installed and operating onboard Navy vessels.
To include navigation, communication, and computer hardware and software.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED, related military experience, trade/industrial school graduate or equivalent.
Three (3) years professional experience solving technical problems.
Trained in the skills and techniques related to engineering and/or software design/maintenance.
Possess a practical understanding of engineering concepts.
Ensures that the product/service and process meet quality and safety standards.
Experience includes testing equipment to make sure that the process operates effectively and safely.
Candidate shall be able to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication of test specimens.
Shall have experience in computer aided drafting (CAD), ability to prepare shop drawings for model construction, and be familiar with material specifications and fabrication methods.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS::
Three (3) years of hands-on experience with US Navy Navigation equipment and systems, to include one (1) of the following four (4) areas:
Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training.
Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in US Navy Navigation equipment and systems.

JOB SUMMARY: Performs duties of Quality Assurance Specialist, quality assurance inspections and NDT on board ships during ship repair operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs quality assurance audits or checks on the work of welders, fitters and pipefitters, assuring the use of correct procedures, materials, processes, and technical instructions. Conducts inspections of work areas and other general QA inspections (checkpoints).
Performs non-destructive inspections on all components as required by NAVSEA specifications, blueprints and work procedure requirements to include NDT inspections for piping and structural fit-up and final weld including but not limited to 5X visual, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle and ultrasonic inspections as needed.
Attends production meetings as necessary to keep up-to-date on job progress and works with shop superintendents to resolve problems and possible negative workmanship trends. Keeps MHI NDT Examiner and Project Managers informed.
Observe sub-contractor NDT inspections and reviews sub-contractor welding and NDT procedures for compliance prior to submission for MARMC.
Records, organizes and evaluates test results and generates NDT and QA inspection reports.
Maintains equipment and assures calibration for tests to be performed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedules, calls in and conducts preliminary and final "G" point NDT checkpoints.
Provides OJT for other Quality Assurance personnel.
Assists NDT Level III as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Two years related technical experience.
Complete all requirements of Quality Assurance Specialist.
ASNT Certification preferred but not required.
Must have documentation to support requirements have been met to achieved VT, PT, UT and MT NDT requirements. Must have met requirements for Level II in at least 3 testing techniques.
Knowledge of shipboard structures and systems required. One year NDT experience in ship repair industry preferred.
Proficient in blueprint reading/interpretation, and QA systems
Knowledge of welding process and documented Ultrasonic experience a plus.
Must have the ability to operate or learn to use magnetic yokes, ultrasonic equipment, magnifiers, machinist's rules, Bridge Cam and fillet gauges.
Strong organizational skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is a must.

1. PURPOSE

The QC Technician ensures compliance to welding, structural fabrication, and traceability requirements while contributing to production support wherever needed to maintain schedule performance.
3. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Perform visual weld inspections per NAVSEA and Newport News Shipbuilding PPD guidelines.
Perform “in‑process” audits to verify work execution adheres to qualified procedures and inspection hold‑points.
Verify OQE documentation compliance and production traveler traceability.
Monitor work sequencing to ensure readiness for inspection and material availability.
Document, classify, and report nonconformances and support corrective action activities.

Arranges for fabrication of pilot models and determines test procedures and design of special test equipment.

Individual may supervise or train and be assisted by lower-level technicians. Completed work is reviewed for compliance with overall project objectives.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:
Ten (10) years of experience to include installation of US Navy Electronics.
Ten (10) years of experience working with US Navy Navigation Systems, of which seven (7) must have been performed within the last nine (9) years.
Experience may be achieved simultaneously.

Department: Asphalt Lab Reports to: Manager - Asphalt Quality Control Major Role and Purpose:
Perform all testing and sampling of materials in the lab or on the job site to ensure product meets specifications of customer and/or State.
Description of Duties:
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
Update and maintain current asphalt mix designs.
Select products for tests at specified stages in the production process.
Perform quality and gradation tests on aggregates and bituminous mixtures.
Record test data into computer and evaluate results.
Field test product (monitor temperature of mixtures, rolling patterns and roller speeds, paver speed and operation, appearance of paved material for consistent quality, and/or perform in place density tests).
Troubleshoot problems with product as required.
Inspect and calibrate lab equipment.
Maintain the cleanliness of the lab.
Ensure the plant is set up and running correctly.
Prepare and distribute test reports on a timely basis.
Communicate with plant foremen and road crew.
Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
Education:
High School Degree required.
Work Experience/Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of prior experience in quality control, asphalt environment preferred.
Certificate in Basic Aggregates and HMA technician preferred.
Asphalt Field Level I & II preferred.
