Responsible for supervising the daily activities of the Quality Assurance Department in milk and Cheese grade A production. Ensure that department operations, and manufactured products follow internal and external standards (Government Regulations USDA/PMO), customer specifications, company's policies, BRC, etc.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Must be familiar with the Quality System requirements of the plant.
2. Reviews processing activities to ensure conformance to specifications.
3. Assures that products are being produced in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's Part 110.0;117.0) and PMO (Pasteurized Milk Ordinance) and Cheese.
4. Responsible coordinating of the Food Safety Plan.
5. Investigates and communicates to the Q.A manager all food safety issues.
6. Supervises the daily activities of QA team.
7. Responsible on assigning expectations and responsibilities to the QA team.
8. Responsible for assessing the training needs of Supervisor and technicians, making sure that training is adequately performed and documented.
9. Ensures that a safe work environment exists in the department and that safety meetings are conducted and documented.
10. Reviews and update work aids (instructions, charts, manuals, bulletins, code date calendars, etc.) essential for verification of product quality.
11. Monitors QA teams' adherence to department's policies, procedures and work instructions.
12. Assists in resolving quality related issues throughout the plant.
13. Participates in safety and sanitation audits.
14. Verifies labor hours and payroll report for accuracy.
15. Resolves team conflicts and if necessary, issue disciplinary actions.
16. Conducts monthly team meetings to address employee issues.
17. Maintains the absence/tardiness records of the technicians and record incidents.
18. Collects and interprets data needed to continuously improve production processes and product quality.
19. Verifies that department's standard operating procedures complies with BRC requirements.
20. Assists in special projects and generates summary of projects' performance.
21. Coordinates Mock Recall teams and assists in successfully completing mock recalls.
22. Assumes the duties of Lead Auditor and Qualified Individual (FSMA). Skills in monitoring and measurement of process control, auditing, manufacturing of food products, sanitation process, knowledge of HACCP, SSOP regulations, FSMA PCQI, skills in team leadership, and root cause analysis.
23. Communicates effectively with the Q.A managers/Director, department employees, Plant management, Regional management, company's management and suppliers.

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry or related science required.
• Knowledge of statistics preferred.
• Courses in Quality Assurance concepts desirable.

Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) that are specific, measurable, and linked to verified root causes, ensuring implementation, verification, and documented effectiveness within defined timelines.
Analyzes and trends investigation and CAPA data to identify systemic issues, recommends process or procedural improvements, and reports performance metrics to Quality leadership.
Ensures all records meet ALCOA+ data-integrity standards and are inspection-ready. Promotes a culture of investigative rigor, continuous improvement, and accountability across Manufacturing, QC, and Engineering functions.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related technical field required.
Minimum 1-4 years of Quality Assurance experience in a cGMP-regulated pharmaceutical, OTC, or medical device environment.
Demonstrated expertise in managing deviations and CAPAs,
Experience with FDA inspections and supporting regulatory audits is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
In-depth knowledge of 21 CFR Parts 210, 211, 11, ICH Q7-Q10, and relevant USP chapters.

Position Overview:
As a Manufacturing Technician at NOGJ in Jonesborough, you will perform a variety of duties within the Operations department and will support various programs across the site. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Operations Supervisor. While this position requires the ability to work any shift as dictated by production requirements, this position will be designated as a 2nd or 3rd shift position and will require the ability to work overtime, weekends and work shift assignments of 10 to 12 hours per day.

Your Day to Day as a Manufacturing Technician:
Operating and setting up various machinery and shop equipment including but not limited to manual lathes, engravers, presses, mills, furnaces, automated welding, forging machines, swagers, painting booths, engine lathes and machinery involved in the disassembly of projectiles (demil)
Utilizing and reading inspection gaging equipment including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, comparators, shadow graphs, indicators, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
Operating inspection equipment
Inspecting product both in-process and post-process
Screening of product lots
Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings
Fabricating quality product to Customer specifications
Maintaining count and traceability of parts including tagging rejected parts
Performing rework of parts, as necessary
Performing advanced data collection, analysis and reporting activities
Collecting, analyzing and utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) data
Assisting with troubleshooting processes and providing escalation/feedback to appropriate personnel
Completing and maintaining daily production reports and records
Maintaining a clean and neat workspace
Performing preventive maintenance activities
Communicating daily process, machine, product status or other relevant manufacturing information to employee(s) and/or supervisor(s) who report to work on the next shift
Reporting abnormalities related to production, maintenance, safety or quality to supervisor
Transporting materials to and from operations, as required
Operating a tow motor and/or forklift
Loading and unloading of parts/blanks
Wearing a respirator in the performance of normal duties, as required

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or an associate degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. Prior experience should be in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Ability to interface effectively within Operations and with various support groups such as Maintenance, Quality and Engineering
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
Must be able to work 10 plus hours per shift
Must be able to work any shift (1st, 2nd or 3rd)
Must be available to work overtime and/or on weekends as needed to support production efforts
Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00
The starting hourly rate for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $20.00 and $22.00 per hour.
