Education:

Explains all procedures to the patient along with risks involved. Obtain consent forms signed by the patient prior to the procedure.
Prepares patients for procedures.
Acts as a circulator in the case, connects monitoring lines, checks pulses, collects and sets up appropriate equipment for the case.
Performs as a sterile assistant, assists the physician in scrubbing and maintaining a sterile field, assists the physician with catheter and/or equipment insertion and removal. Dresses and/or sutures insertion site following the procedure. Sets up arterial pressure line (if needed) or pulls sheath and obtains hemostasis.
Assists in the use of arterial closure devices.
Records, interprets, and calculates various types of data collected during the procedure.
Maintains equipment, corrects equipment malfunctions and reports malfunctions for repair.
Instructs technologists and others in the performance of technical procedures, operations of equipment, and collection and interpretation of data.
Demonstrates knowledge of the proper operation of x-ray equipment used in the Cath Lab.
Monitors and is responsible for quality assurance of the x-ray equipment.
Maintains continuing education classes to assure certification.
Participates in the on call rotation.
Collects appropriate past patient information for the physician to review (old cine films, cath records, etc.).

Ensure compliance with written cleaning, inspection and pre-operational procedures of equipment, processing rooms, and storage areas
Review daily CIP and other sanitation records including master sanitation records (MSS) for accuracy and effectiveness of cleaning
Assist in development and delivery of quality/food safety training
Use ATP swabs to verify the effectiveness of cleaning and trends results to evaluate the need for procedural improvements or additional employee training
Complete in plant daily inspections and participate in plant process and internal audits
Ensure timely change out of trash compactors and their proper use and condition
Work with the Operations team to perform Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective & Preventive actions
Provide back-up in the Quality Laboratory as needed
Assist the Quality Supervisor with any duties as requested

Overview:
Works closely and efficiently with Electrophysilogists, ntradisciplinary staff and other invasive cardiology staff in performing a wide range of rhythm management EP/ cardiac procedures. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, vales, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program and completed required clinical hours.

Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: This individual must be capable of: Manipulating Angiography equipment, including mobile and other equipment; selecting and manipulating exposure factors on digital angiographic systems; evaluating and processing digital images; lifting, moving, and transporting patients; continual standing and walking; recognizing emergency situations; adapting to stressful situations; and communicating effectively.
Equipment Used: This individual should be proficient in the use of: Digital Angiography Equipment, Interventional equipment, PACS, Computers.

Work Environment

The work environment includes spending half of the shift in the lab testing products and the other half retrieving samples and conducting line checks. The role involves working in cold, wet, or noisy environments and standing for extended periods.
