The Quality Melt Lab Technician position is responsible for monitoring all aspects of product quality, from incoming raw materials to the finished product, and reports results to appropriate management personnel. Schedule: * Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility; the employee must be willing and able to work on days or nights. The current vacancy is on the night shift, from 4:00pm-4:30am. We have a 12-hour schedule which has a 2-2-3 rotation that allows for every other weekend off. * After training is complete, new hires will be assigned a regular schedule on the next available shift. Pay Rate: * $24.03 per hour * $1.00 per hour weekend differential for all hours worked Saturday & Sunday * $0.75 shift differential for all evening hours worked between 6pm - 6am any day of the week Job Responsibilities: * Test product performance, including bulk grading, melt, measure, ribbon dimension and temperature. Present performance test results to management team during product showing. * Advise appropriate management personnel about out of specification conditions and place product on hold. * Collect, document, pack, and ship samples as required. * Maintain accurate records. * Ensure product is free of extraneous through periodic process checks and record keeping, including monitoring GMP's and proper metal detector checks. * Perform all duties in a safe manner while observing all SOP and GMP guidelines. * Adhere to safety procedures and practices through the handling of flammables, caustics and corrosive chemicals. * Any addition duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: * You must be a minimum of 18 years old. * Must be able to work Sunday-Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays and required overtime to support a 24-hour / 7-day operation. * Must be able to work a minimum of 12.5 hours, with majority of time standing or walking. * Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with a high degree of accuracy. * Able to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations. * Ability to work independently without direct supervision. * Good time management skills. * Must be able to lift and carry moderate weights repeatedly throughout the shift. Reporting to the Manager, Chemical Synthesis and Bulk Manufacturing, the Chemical Technician II is responsible for manufacturing a wide variety of chemical solutions and powders, in addition to using wet bench chemistry to test and adjust the manufactured chemistry using an assortment of techniques and instruments. This position is part of the Bulk Chemical Manufacturing Department located in Ames, Iowa and will work onsite 4 days per week! **This position is second shift** **Schedule: Monday through Thursday** **2:00pm-12:00am.** **In this role, a typical day will look like:** + Manufacture bulk solutions, bulk powders, microbiological media and dyes. The Environmental Lab Analyst will accession and evaluate environmental samples for compliance with holding time and acceptance criteria. This role involves conducting routine bacteriological testing using standardized procedures and quality control protocols. The analyst will also recommend adjustments or enhancements to established methods to address complex analytical challenges, serve as the lead analyst for testing across various sample types and matrices, and participate in the Food Emergency Response Network for E. coli, listeria, and other bacteria testing. Additionally, the analyst will perform wastewater testing for infectious disease surveillance.
