Quality control clerks perform various functions in the quality control department. They work under the supervision of a quality control supervisor or manager. They are responsible for tasks like conducting quality inspections, ensuring compliance with regulations, generating QA reports, collecting data from previous samples, and creating ISO procedures.

Some quality control clerks also help develop QA processes, ensure inventory security, and monitor and audit all associates to ensure they are working under federal and state compliance laws. They may also be responsible for updating and submitting payroll forms on behalf of quality control managers.

A high school diploma and prior experience in quality control are the two main requirements for this job. Furthermore, a quality control clerk must display a good knowledge of quality control procedures, the ability to follow instructions carefully, and keen attention to detail. They must also be able to use basic computer programs such as Excel and Outlook.

Quality control clerks earn an average of $32,000 per year. With enough experience, they can progress to higher positions such as quality control supervisors or managers.
