Our Quality Assurance Inspectors are responsible for performing inspections, audits of purchased parts, units, materials, equipment, panel/module level assemblies and quality control programs to specifications. Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units. Maintains support documentation and reviews performance data. Ensures in-process and finished products meet company and customer requirements. Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection. Validates products and documentation for compliance to all applicable requirements and prepares items for presentation to the customer for acceptance and delivery. Inspectors also perform First Article Inspections and Finished Goods Testing. The inspector must possess good communication abilities, be flexible and able to lift up to 30 lbs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Responsible for the incoming material inspections of products and raw materials including metals and sub tier vendor products. * Inspects various metal products at various stages of the manufacturing process, and tests products for a variety of qualities * Interfaces with Manufacturing, Quality and Process Engineering Staff as needed on the interpretation of Customer and Internal Engineering drawings, specifications, and standards. * Able to use simple hand tools and basic measurement equipment such as digital calipers, micrometers. The Metals Inspector reports to the Stockpiling Supervisor, the Shredder Operations Supervisor, or the Terminal Operations Manager. The Metals Inspector is responsible for observing and monitoring the delivery of material to verify conformance to quality and quantity specifications, while ensuring that all of his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Duties may include assisting with daily production operations, as well as receiving and stockpiling of materials and products. The Metals Inspector should possess knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and other techniques required for maximizing the receipt and transfer of quality product.
