The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that the products being produced meet quality standards and specifications. The inspector will review products and material, measure objects compared to their physical specifications, run quality test and identify defects. The inspector is also responsible to review supplier paperwork such as certifications to ensure they are compliant to Customer requirements.
* This is a TEMPORARY role with a possibility of being hired on perm depending on the business*
Schedule: Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday 5am-5pm
Pay: $22-$25 (DOE)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Examine raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet specified criteria.
Perform visual inspections, measurements and various tests to identify defects or deviations from standards.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and non-conforming products.
Report defects to relevant personnel.
Communicate with production, engineering and management to provide feedback on quality issues and collaborate on solutions.
Train production workers on quality standards and inspection techniques.
Conduct final inspection to ensure products meet all quality standards.
Cross train in production to fill in gaps
Qualifications:
Required:
Highschool diploma or equivalent
1 year of quality inspector experience in a manufacturing environment minimum
Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, drop gauges, and measuring microscope
Able to read drawings/specifications and be able to interpret requirements
Ability to pass and maintain a yearly vision/eye exam to ensure accuracy in quality inspections
Preferred:
Experience with GD&T is a plus
J-Standard certified
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Quality ControlInspectors are expected to visually inspect all products going through the factory within their assigned areas. This position is expected to be carried out in a professional, courteous, and non-biased manner, with a “Team” approach. Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the quality manager to identify quality issues and help ensure the highest quality product
Work professionally with area leads, production personnel, weld technicians (including robots), and “others” to report, address, and document quality issues and concerns.
Document and track all quality inspections using electronic reporting app, paper documents, and any other DBC assigned method(s).
Read and understand production details and spool sheets
Help create and implement the proper quality check(s) utilizing tools
Attend any training that aids in job functions (roles and responsibilities)

Key Responsibilities
80% of work: Mechanical Inspection of parts produced by Machine shop
Conducting Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) inspection to exacting tolerances, castings, forgings, machined parts, sheet metal parts and assemblies furnished by vendors or fabricated in-house.
Inspects machined parts for proper material, processes, completion of operations, workmanship and conformance to engineering approved sketches, drawings and specifications.
Read and understand engineering drawings and specifications and perform mathematical computations.
Conducting visual inspections and utilize standard inspection devices such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gages, dial bore gages, optical comparator and thread gages.

Inspects functional gages, fixtures, molds, dies, tooling, etc., for conformance to drawings.
Prepare and maintain required inspection reports and records.

Inspect incoming raw materials, products, electronics, and services for conformance to purchase orders (POs), engineering drawings, and specifications.
Identify and report any non-conformances to the appropriate personnel.
Work with Quality Engineers and Managers to resolve any issues that may arise.

Assist in the activities of other inspectors as directed.
Perform related work requiring equal or lesser skill.
