Job DescriptionAcara Solutions is looking for a Quality Inspector for our client in the Mahwah, NJ area

Responsible for the daily inspection of a variety of restorative dental products utilizing manual and automated inspection equipment along with visual inspection using a microscope. Coducts final inspection in accordance with established procedure and is authorized to release product for distribution and also to reject product that does not meet specification requirements.

Inspects and tests during in-process operations in accordance with established in-process inspection requirments.

Performs end product final inspection and releases conforming product to the shipping department for distribution to customers.
In combination with inspection activities, performs packaging and labeling operations. Perfoms receiving (incoming) inspection operations in accordance with established incoming inspection requirements. Performs visual & functional inspections and utilizes various insection equipment such as hand measuring tools and Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Performs Equipment (CMM) scheduled TPM and Calibration Follow FIFO to ensure On-Time Delivery Supports the Danaher Business System (DBS) through the identification and analysis of quality issues and develops/implements countermeasures in cooperation with production. Participates in +QDIP daily reviews in QC and other production cells as necessary.
Trains and coaches Production Operators in QC inspection techniques and methods along with product specific inspection requirements.
Pay Rate: $20/hr.
3rd shift---10.00pm to 6am

Education/Experience Qualifications:
A minimum of a High School diploma is required; an Associate's degree is preferred. Three (3) years of related experience is required; Three (3) or more years of related experience is preferred.IPC-A-610 CIS certification preferred.Intermediate manufacturing experience, including knowledge of workmanship standards, is preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
Other Qualifications:

Overview

The QC Inspector's function (QCI), revolves around the overall goal of rejecting/accepting raw materials or finished good assemblies in strict accordance to their predefined specification. Materials will be inspected at an incoming perspective, however requests from Quality Engineering may arise in which inventory would require re-evaluation of parts.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices: Examine items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit.
  • Compare quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
  • Inspect and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to blueprints, specifications, parts manuals, company or global standards, and other specifications, using precision measuring instruments and devices.
  • Perform random out of box inspection.
  • Accurately document and summarize inspection, audit, and test results (must be in a clear, detailed, and timely fashion).
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of one to two years' experience in a quality related inspection role
  • Excellent English - written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • General familiarity with metals, plastics, cables, labels, documents, hardware, printed circuit boards
  • Solid understanding of receiving inspection processes including sampling, measurement techniques, have the ability to read and understand assembly drawings, schematics, block diagrams and Engineering Change Notices for the purpose of specific inspection criteria and evaluation.
  • Proficient with a personal computer and selected software applications (Microsoft Outlook email, Word, Excel, etc.)
