Purpose
This role is responsible for overseeing quality assurance checks on incoming materials, ensuring compliance with specifications, conducting PAPR inspections, and contributing to related projects. Job Description

Perform work center, finished product and process audits, as required.

Initiate CAPA Determinations.
Report safety near misses and incidents whenever applicable.
Basic Requirements
Technician IV: Vocational training and 8+ years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years' experience in a relevant work environment.

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality Inspector provides technical support to Operations with respect to hands-on utilization of inspection equipment, with the primary goal of determining and reporting product conformance to requirements. The Quality Inspector will also support calibration activities and gage issuance and recall processes. As part of a continuous improvement philosophy, the Quality Inspector may lend specific expertise to investigation and project teams as warranted.
The Quality Inspector must be able to effectively document and advise Management regarding product conformance and capability issues based on observable and repeatable findings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Operate inspection equipment (Hand Gages, CMMs, Keyence optical comparators, etc), to validate product conformance to all internal and customer documented quality requirements.
* Support capability evaluations, measurement systems analysis and improvement efforts for new and existing parts.
* Perform advanced bench and layout inspections in addition to CMM / Keyence evaluations, to assist Engineering in completing proof of concept work
* Support site Calibration processes by assisting in the completion of calibrations, updating the Gage recall systems, and issuing gages as needed.
* Support resolution of measurement issues in the Cells and communicate recommendations for corrective / preventive action and quality improvement.
* Support and participate in the Internal Audit Process, Certified Operator Audits, customer and process audits, and NADCAP Certification Teams, where necessary.
* Support Preliminary Review of NCMR's for validity of rejections and clarity of documentation, where conditions warrant, may include the need to initiate and follow up on stock purges and line checks
QUALIFICATIONS
* High School diploma or GED equivalent
* Must have or be willing and able to obtain Certification by The American Society for Quality.
* Must be proficient in reading blueprints.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel, Outlook, etc).
* Requires a minimum of three years of experience working in a manufacturing facility with ISO9001/AS9100.
* Requires experience in a role with responsibility to accept/reject product.
* Must have experience with and be able to use inspection measurement hand tools and instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (RCCA/CAPA) activities.
Assist with First Article Inspections (FAIs) in compliance with AS9102 requirements.

Requirements:
5+ years of experience in quality inspection within the aerospace or precision manufacturing industry.
Proven ability to work with tight tolerances (2/10,000”) and complex precision parts.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools and equipment; CMM experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and ability to interpret complex aerospace blueprints.

Essential Duties
Understand and follow OGS quality system requirements.
Review and understand customer requirements.
Provide documentation and results during Receiving, Layout, In-process, and Final Inspection.
Document SPC as needed to support quality efforts.
Follow Inspection Plan Documents (IPDs) that provide a basis for making quality decisions in accordance with customer requirements and OGS procedures.
Use approved gauging and measurement techniques.
