Purpose
Accountable for basic operation of the site's quality assurance and control program including but not limited to: assisting and supporting all safety, environmental and quality regulations, product testing and adherence to standards, targets and recipes, maintain relevant equipment and calibrations, and decision-making through basic statistical understanding.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all work in accordance with safety rules and regulations and participate in facility health & safety activities as assigned
Use descriptive statistics to identify non-conforming material to site referenced standards and targets
Ensure all relevant quality requirements are consistently met according to the QA manual and plant SOPs
Ensure that non-conforming product is appropriately quarantined, identified and segregated according to standard procedures
Ensure the communication of non-conformance is clear and concise to required parties.
Disposition basic non-conforming product as allowed by site Technical Manager.
Record testing and inspection results by inputting into appropriate database or spreadsheets while identifying and responding to test results outside of product standards and targets
Verify that all product packaging and appearance standards meet site and client expectations.
Generate and analyze reports and charts
Monitor and document process parameter changes as assigned
Communicate test results and observations to operations and management to maintain process and product conformance
Monitor and record consumption and inventory of raw materials (wax, resin, etc.).
Verify quality of raw materials as required
Support preventive and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
Assist in process and product tests/trials.
Be pro-active in identifying and performing other tasks to maintain and improve safety, quality and environmental performance
Demonstrate adherence to process and product SOPs, JSAs, check sheets and other QMS documentation
Provide support to team members when a quality issue arises
Demonstrate drive and willingness to advance to higher levels of responsibility
Perform in a relief capacity for production coordinator
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree and two years of experience in laboratory work, quality control, or general manufacturing; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
Knowledge of and ability to follow all quality and process standards
Demonstrated ability to operate a computer and supporting software, to include spreadsheet and statistical packages
Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and production processes
Demonstrated ability to operate sample preparation and testing equipment
Knowledge of inventory management
Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills
Proficient math skills and statistical knowledge, including concepts
Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of material handling equipment (both hand tools and electrical/motorized equipment)
Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50 pounds
Demonstrated ability to work while wearing a respirator and/or other safety clothing or equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Forest Products, Engineering, Wood Science or related scientific field preferred
Three (3) years composite or engineered wood manufacturing experience

POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform tests to inspect tubing materials, thinner welds, surface flaws, corrosion, wall sizing and thicker forms of welding that may harbor deviations from specifications.
Set up equipment to perform non-destructive testing utilizing ultrasonic testing and/or eddy current testing methods on parts, following specified procedures.
Examine surface and locate discontinuities in product or metal structure.
Perform visual and dimensional inspection of various materials and products including welds.
May develop and/or follow work instructions for approved procedures.
Prepares and generates reports and/or documentation outlining findings and conclusions.
Prepare and generate non-conformance reports in accordance with the Quality Management System specifications.
Evaluate test and inspection results against designated standards.
May participate in customer and/or quality audits.
Ensures instruments and tools are maintained and calibrated according to schedule.
Maintain clean and orderly work environment.

The Quality ControlInspector (QA/QC) is responsible for implementing quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications, applicable regulations, and company standards. This position inspects all phases of goods, services, and operations to verify conformity with established quality health, and safety requirements.
The Quality ControlInspector (QA/QC) performs ongoing inspections to ensure all work meets contractual provisions, confirms that services listed on the performance requirement summary are completed in satisfactory manner, and determines areas to be inspected- both scheduled and unscheduled- as well as the frequency of inspections.
This position requires communicating deficiencies to appropriate personnel, maintaining Quality Control files, and documenting the results of inspections.
Performs all other position -related duties and assigned or requested.
A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) is required for this position to meet the scope of contract operations.
Minimum Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Able to operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects and submit a request for replacement parts.
Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools.
Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
Identify defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions, and tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and adjustments of all heavy machinery to ensure the equipment remains fully mission capable for mission support.
Performs a variety of collateral duties such as handling, containment, clean-up and disposal of hazardous waste, etc.
Operates all heavy equipment and forklifts up to and including 50,000 pounds lift capacity, and a variety of other equipment to trouble shoot faults and validate repairs.
Understands and uses safety items and personal protective equipment (PPE) that is mandatory and actively supports the EHS safety program.
Required to walk, stand, sit, and move about the property for long periods of time.
Required to perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping to handle materials.
Work in a noise level can range from minimal to intense.
Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Possess a Valid California Commercial Drivers' License (CDL).
Must be a US Citizen or able to work in the US.
