The Civil QA/QC Inspector will oversee the quality assurance and quality control aspects of civil construction work including earthworks, concrete, asphalt, utilities, drainage, and structural components. Essential Functions of the Position Conduct QA/QC inspections for all civil construction activities, including but not limited to earthwork, foundation, concrete placement, utilities, roadways, and structural components. Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports, test results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action documentation. Monitor construction work to ensure compliance with approved inspection and test plans (ITPs). Coordinate with contractors, site engineers, consultants, and quality managers to address any quality-related issues. Verify materials and workmanship meet the project's approved submittals and standards. Attend quality and coordination meetings as needed. Ensure that all inspection and testing records are properly documented and archived. Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring quality issues and suggesting practical solutions. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum of [3-5] years of experience in civil construction QA/QC, preferably in infrastructure or large-scale projects. In-depth knowledge of industry standards and codes (ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, etc.). Experience reviewing and implementing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Control Plans (QCPs). Familiarity with construction materials and laboratory/field testing procedures. Performs magnetic particle, liquid penetrant inspection, and visual inspection activities on various equipment to company, customer, or regulatory requirements. Performs vessel inspections under the direct supervision of a Senior Inspector. Certifies that field assignments conform to company policies and procedures as well as job specific instructions supplied by the Operations Department. Minimum Requirements Requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with good math skills and a minimum three months of inspection experience. Must maintain a valid Transportation Worker's Identification Card (TWIC). Possess and maintain a vehicle in good working order, a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance and registration. Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities as per company policies and procedures. Maintains regular contact with Operations Department to receive work orders and schedules. Effectively communicates all aspects of assigned job duties. Maintains regular contact with Operations Department, terminals, and vessel to avoid delays or conflicts. Obtains, labels and transports samples to the laboratory in a timely manner as required by each specific job assignment. Maintains assigned inspection equipment in good working order and ensures equipment is properly calibrated and stored. Measures (gauge and temperature) products and performs all required field calculations per the API Standards, completes all required field documentation and submits reports to the Operations Department in a timely manner. Performs specialized inspection services such as loss control, wall washings or confined space entry upon receiving required training. Assists in the training of Probationary and Junior Inspectors. Fitness for Duty - Physical Demands Workday may consist of 8-12 hours; however, this can vary day to day or shift to shift.
