Ensure the inspection sampling process and inspection records are complete and compliant to the procedures. Create NCM when nonconformance is identified. Perform containment action and provide inspection support per MRB requests. Ensure inventory and transactions are accurate all the time. Be able to do the cycle counting. Initiate the inspection process for new parts or materials based on the engineering requirements. Understand the inspection tools and their limitation to ensure the measurement accuracy by choosing the right tools and inspection methods. Required Qualifications Two years of experience with Inspection/measurement of precision mechanical and optical components/assemblies Visual inspection experience with printed circuit board assemblies using microscopes, micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, optical comparators, Coordinate Measuring Machines, etc. MRP/ERP system transaction knowledge. Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings/Blueprint. Understanding of basic quality terms, definitions and concepts Use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Ability to work with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications ASQ Certified Quality Inspector. Inspection of components for laser diode assemblies and fiber optics. ISO 9001 experience. The metal fabrication Quality Control Technician is responsible for verifying all fabricated metal parts meet established quality standards. The technician will work closely with the Quality Engineer to complete inspections throughout the production process. This involves using measuring tools and techniques to identify defects, ensuring compliance with blueprints and specifications, and reporting any issues to production teams to maintain product quality and prevent further problems. Responsibilities * Inspect fabricated parts by visually and physically examining metal components at various stages of production, such as raw materials, cut pieces, welded joints, and finished products, to check for dimensional accuracy, surface defects, and compliance with design specifications. * Utilize measuring tools such as tape measures, levels, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments to ensure tolerances are met. * Read blueprints and specifications to thoroughly understand engineering drawings and technical specifications and verify that each fabricated part adheres to the intended design. * Identify potential quality issues such as misalignment, warping, scratches, dents, improper welding, and other imperfections during inspection. * Document inspection findings on quality control forms, noting any non-conforming parts and documenting corrective actions taken. * Communicate with production teams by reporting identified issues to production personnel and providing feedback to improve manufacturing processes and prevent future quality problems. * Implement corrective actions by working with operators to address quality issues by adjusting machining parameters, re-working defective parts, or implementing process improvements. * Maintain quality standards by ensuring adherence to established quality control procedures and industry standards, including safety regulations. Conduct detailed energy audits on residential structures. Enter collected data into home energy performance analysis software to determine cost/benefit analysis. Administer diagnostic testing on all audited homes, including building and duct air leakage, static pressures, air handler performance, combustion appliance exhaust and draft testing, lead paint testing, and carbon monoxide testing. Collect samples when asbestos is suspected and submit them for testing. Identify health and safety issues. Make recommendations to management regarding selection of weatherization measures. Submit applications and reports to the state and other partner entities. Assist with administrative file work when needed. Perform brief pre-audit home inspections. Oversee contractor work through periodic inspections while jobs are in progress. Serve as primary point of contact for contractors with technical needs or questions. Support contractor work by offering hands-on or document-based training in areas where contractor knowledge or skill deficiencies are present. Provide customer service to clients regarding matters such as job progress, feedback or questions regarding contractors, and education about weatherization measures. Perform 6-month follow-up visits with clients to hear and address any concerns with completed work. Collaborate with administrative staff in matters such as contractor scheduling and bid and work order issuance. Abide by all compliance principles issued by Federal, State and Local rules and regulations relevant to client eligibility, file maintenance, audit and inspection standards, performance codes, and installation of acceptable weatherization measures and products. Maintain tools and diagnostic equipment. Ensure periodic maintenance schedules are met and perform safety checks for departmental vehicles. Serve on agency safety committee. Attend trainings to obtain certification requirements, learn new innovative technology, and incorporate new methods in our delivery of weatherization services. Assist with the development and delivery of energy conservation training courses including the proper installation of self-help materials. Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, building codes, blueprints, and weatherization specifications. Performs other duties as assigned by the Weatherization Manager.
