The Civil QA/QC Inspector will oversee the quality assurance and quality control aspects of civil construction work including earthworks, concrete, asphalt, utilities, drainage, and structural components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and quality plans. The Ideal candidate must be willing to travel to support project needs. Essential Functions of the Position Conduct QA/QC inspections for all civil construction activities, including but not limited to earthwork, foundation, concrete placement, utilities, roadways, and structural components. Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports, test results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action documentation. Monitor construction work to ensure compliance with approved inspection and test plans (ITPs). Coordinate with contractors, site engineers, consultants, and quality managers to address any quality-related issues. Verify materials and workmanship meet the project's approved submittals and standards. Attend quality and coordination meetings as needed. Ensure that all inspection and testing records are properly documented and archived. Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring quality issues and suggesting practical solutions. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Minimum of [3-5] years of experience in civil construction QA/QC, preferably in infrastructure or large-scale projects. In-depth knowledge of industry standards and codes (ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, etc.). Experience reviewing and implementing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Control Plans (QCPs). Familiarity with construction materials and laboratory/field testing procedures. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and QA/QC reporting tools. Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites. Preferred Certifications (Not Required, but a Plus): ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I NICET Certification in Civil/Construction Inspection OSHA 10 or 30 Certification ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems knowledge QMS/QA-related training or certifications Physical Requirements Must be willing to work flexible schedules and overtime as needed by the department needs.
