Responsibilities Responsibilities * Materials testing on soils, asphalt, and concrete - FOR PROJECTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO * ICC qualified to provide materials testing on soils, asphalt, reinforced concrete, with additional qualifications such as structural steel, fabricated structural steel, fireproofing, architectural, and mechanical preferred - FOR LANL PROJECTS * Perform inspections to verify construction is completed in adherence with approved codes, laws, ordinances, regulations, and standards. * Verify that construction complies with approved plans. * Read, research, and objectively interpret code requirements. * Maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive records related to inspection activities. * Review complex engineering documents to ensure construction compliance. * Interface with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients through participation in project meetings and daily site interaction. Qualifications Education/Qualifications: * Requirements for Special Inspector and/or Field Technician vary depending on the type of work to be performed. * Familiar with International Building Code and ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI standards for testing and inspections. * Must be a motivated individual who can follow directions. * Prepare daily reports for submission to the QC Manager. * A valid Driver's license and reliable vehicle. * Excellent written and verbal skills.
