Summary: The CMM Quality Inspector by using the Gill Process Documents (i.e.: GPS, GMS, GOS), performs essential duties to meet customer and AS9100 requirements and supports engineers with complex tasks. This position also works on quality-related projects with direction from the Quality Control Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Follow company policies and procedures Comprehend and ensure compliance with internal quality documents, and customer specifications Read and understand customer specifications, process standards, drawings (blue prints), ANSI procedures, and industry standards. Coordinate with CNC production to inspect and rework parts in a timely matter. Must be able to setup, program, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines, both traditional in-place and articulated-arm (Romer) devices. Proficient in reading blueprints, understanding GD&T, and working with associated technical documents. Proficient in the selection of appropriate hand-held and/or surface plate measuring equipment appropriate to the task. Comfortable providing instruction for the development of Inspection employees within the organization. Responsibilities The Quality Team Lead will inspect products by using a variety of inspection tools/devices, work instructions and computer to perform a series of inspections to correctly verify incoming parts, in-process and completed assemblies. Verify supplier material certifications, including special processes, and ensure compliance with quality/PO requirements. Creates supporting documentation (data books, certificates of conformance, etc…) Support disposition of discrepant materials (MRB) in accordance with appropriate quality procedures and maintain low inventory of on-hold parts. Verifies first articles from suppliers and internal departments. Prepares and processes records and reports to document supplier/operations performance. Qualify supplier components and/or systems for assuring conforming product. Adheres to calibrations system of inspection, measuring and test equipment. Applies Statistical Quality Control techniques as directed. Assist with interpretation of drawings, specifications and quality requirements. Properly process goods for outside processing, investigates and evaluates component parts returned and nonconforming product. The Quality Team Lead provides effective training to the quality control cell and ensures safety and quality standards are always maintained. Work with supervisor to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met. Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the quality control cell. Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Quality management. Work closely with support staff such as Purchasing/Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Supervisor, Materials/Warehouse to resolve issues. Observe, maintain, coordinate and complete standard work. Update production metrics and facilitate regular team communication. Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Quality management. Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities. Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company's Quality System.
