Department Overview
Gas Operations oversees the natural gas transmission and distribution operations. The team maintains and operates 6,700 miles of gas transmission pipeline, 43,000 miles of distribution main, 3.6 million gas services, three PG&E-owned storage facilities with 102 BCF capacity, nine compressor stations with 175K HP, and 5,000 measurement and control facilities. Gas Operations is comprised of approximately 6,000 coworkers.
Position Summary
Prepares, conducts, and evaluates assessments for Engineering, Construction & Operations in accordance with work procedures, policies, and design standards. May be involved in functions related to supporting and communicating assessment findings. Conducts quality assessments both independently and as a team member. Compiles and reports out quality assessment results to other interested parties and verifies Operator Qualifications of assessed employees and instrument calibration records.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $105,000
Bay Area Maximum: $169,000

California Minimum: $100,000
California Maximum: $161,000
Job Responsibilities
Applies advanced knowledge to collect, verify and analyze information relative to QC objectives, scope and criteria, including information relative to interfaces between functions, activities, and processes.
Instrumental in the development of QC work procedures and documents, scorecards and related documents due to expertise.
Evaluates assessment results to determine findings, including identification of opportunities for improvement.
Regularly conducts and schedules QC assessment entrance and close out meetings as well as follow up activities.
Contributes as an SME regarding Work Procedures and Standards & Policies pertaining to area of specialization: For example: I&R/Corrosion, Leak Survey, Locate and Mark, Distribution, Transmission, Gas Service.
Participates in Quality Audits and may be involved with audit planning, developing audit plans, execution of audit assessments, progress reports, assessment results, audit reports and corrective action activities to various levels of management.
Gathers information from assessments and submits appropriate reports.
Supports corporate quality and improvement.
Conducts review of regulations, standards, procedures, records, data and other documents relevant to assessment.
Qualifications
Minimum:
High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
5 years of relevant experience at journeyman status or 5 years equivalent experience in gas infrastructure or quality control.
1 year of gas quality control specialist experience.
Valid CA driver's license

Responsibilities
* Perform visual and dimensional inspection on supplied electronics PCBA (printed circuit board assemblies), EE components, and harness to ensure they meet quality standards, using tools like microscopes and calipers, and pin gauges. This includes checking for defects like solder flaws, incorrect component placement, wrong components, solder mask, conformal coating, cosmetic issues, and documenting all findings according to criteria per engineer requirements, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and J-STD-001.
* The role also requires reporting nonconformities, collaborating with production and engineering teams to resolve problems, and maintaining inspection records. Document and relay nonconformance information following MRB process conduct first article inspection and generate first article inspection reports in compliance with ISO9001 (as required).

* High-school diploma or GED plus three (3) years of on-the-job experience in electronics assembly manufacturing.
* Comprehension of IPC-610, IPC-A-620, and J-STD-001 standards - certification preferred.

Qualifications
Minimum:
High School Diploma or GED
Seven years of relevant utility industry experience such as, or similar to, a journeyman lineworker, electrician, system operator, or electrical engineer with an understanding of Distribution, Transmission, and Substation assets and inspection activities.
A valid California Class C Driver's License
Desired:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or job-related discipline
Experience in an electric Journey position, 5 years
Experience in electric maintenance and construction, or related, 7 years
